I just got back from Norwegian Encore 7 day (10/6-10/13) and I’m shocked at how little I actually wore of what I packed. I could’ve fit it all into a carry on and 1 backpack . The key is not packing variety, but packing the essentials.

Thanks for sharing what you packed and wore. I am going to Alaska with my parents this July and we are from a tropical country so I'm very concerned about not packing sufficient layers. 😅 The common attire where I'm from are t shirts and shorts.

I'm in shock at how much you packed for a 7 night cruise or 11 day trip. While I'm definitely a more minimalist packer it's really good see what you actually did wore. I agrree so much more helpful than a what I packed video by itself. Love that you filmed this on the cruise. Will try to remember to do the same.

Hi Brenda, interested to hear more about the Chaco Ramble Puffs. Did you wear the Puffs around the ship only or on shore too? If on shore, how active were you in them or just casual walking around?
@brendaboretti
@brendaboretti 10 ай бұрын
I wore those almost exclusively off the ship in Alaska and a mix of those and my Birkenstock tennis shoes around the ship. When off the ship, it was pretty casual for the most part--I had my older Dad and Aunt with us, so no extreme excursions! We did a small boat whale watching tour and I ran all over that vessel in the slick, rainy conditions in Juneau with no issues AND my feet stayed dry and warm. I had bought these for myself and my two boys-8 &10 at the time and we all loved them. The kids especially loved the ease of on and off. I didn't wear the big, heavy Sperry boots at all--what a waste of space! Hope that helps!

@brendaboretti I assume it is a low traffic area being out of the way? As for the other side with the rock wall, how crowded was it over there? You mentioned this side (port) the rock wall wasn't used, if it was would it be pretty crowded?
@brendaboretti
@brendaboretti 10 ай бұрын
It was definitely low traffic. People would show up for the Aqua show right at time or later, but other than that the hallway itself was dead. I don’t recall the Rockwall being used being terribly busy all the time, although the one time we wanted to use it, it was and we were too impatient to wait.

@brendaboretti
@brendaboretti 10 ай бұрын
Yes and no. I went back and looked at pictures to verify because it’s been a while but unless you were right at the rail, you really couldn’t see up and they couldn’t see you looking down because it was partially covered so if you were sitting in the chairs or loungers, no, they can’t see. I would book it again in a heartbeat! I’m going on Adventure again this summer but all afts were gone. Hope that helps!

We went at the very end of June. The general weather was in the 50's for the most part and a mix of sun and overcast with some rainy days-from what I understand, typical Alaska summer weather! I hear May is the best month for the least amount of rain.

Great video - after years of travel I am a minimalist packer (finished 35 days TA, land travel, river cruise) all in carry on. I know most people would not be happy with my choices as I rewear and do have laundry done. Very honest to show what you did not actually need.

That's the first time we've seen this style and grade of stateroom, and fair to say we would be pretty happy to be accommodated there for our cruise. So much open space and light, and that walk in closet is such a joy have (having had such a thing just a couple of times ourselves)

Thank you for this video! There are very few videos for these new JS. we will be sailing in this cabin Oct. 2023. Can’t wait - it looks amazing. Couple quick questions. Was there any noise from the gym or solarium? Was the door leading from the gym to the corridor with the cabins locked ? Was there a door at the end of the hallway leading to the solarium to reduce noise/maintain privacy? Given there are only 6 cabins on this deck, were they ready ahead of time? Thanks so much!
@brendaboretti
@brendaboretti Жыл бұрын
I started doing these videos because I was frustrated at never finding the cabins I was booking--I love to do my research ahead of time too! There was zero noise in this cabin. It truly is far enough away to be very private and only the people staying on that corridor would be there too. So the corridor for this bank of cabins exits into the forward elevator/stair bank. To get to the solarium, you have to exit that area out of the double glass sliding doors. The Fitness Center also has an entrance in the center of that main elevator/stair bank-we never heard any noise from our cabin from there. If I remember correctly, there was a door for the cabin corridor but it stayed open, except for when it was shut prior to the cabins being ready the first day--I don't recall what time we checked to see if ready but we typically wait until they announce they are ready. It was great to be so close to the solarium to run and jump in the hot tub! Hope that all helps!

Would you recommend this to just two people or would you say it’s better for larger families? We’re placing RoyalUp bids for our May 7th sailing and wondering if it’ll be worth it for just my fiancé and I. We’re traveling with a group of 6 other people but we all have separate rooms
@brendaboretti
@brendaboretti Жыл бұрын
I think it would be a bit much for just two people. A regular balcony cabin is perfectly fine. Also, these larger rooms are usually booked out quite far so the chances of getting it in a Royal Up situation I think would only happen if someone canceled last minute. I love cruises with multiple family and friends and I hope you have a great time!
