and when you're done with the whole experiment, you'll count what you bought, the time you spent on it and realised it cost you much more than buying a new one.
@AlejandroUrman_2 ай бұрын
Hi @antiplouc, Thanks for watching & the comment. That's a fair conclusion to have after watching the video and might mean that this DIY option might not be right for you. For many of us starting out in filmmaking or video production, $400 AUD for a pre-made option represents a lot of money (especially for equipment that you're not sure will be useful for you). And this is on top of all the other essentials that are needed to get started. So instead, what we don't have in money to spend, we make up by spending our time. This DIY option is not on par with a professional pre-made option and by all means, if you have the funds, it definitely would be best to go with a pre-made professional option instead. But this video is for those, who may not have that luxury and would like to learn and advance their lighting techniques, without breaking the bank. 🙂👍

Does the camera screen cut out when you hit record when using this monitor? I saw another reviewer post about this problem
@AlejandroUrman_2 ай бұрын
Hi Aaron, Thanks for the question. I still use this monitor to this day but no longer have the Sony A7III (using Sony A7IV instead). As for the monitor output, I personally never experienced an issue where the screen cuts off after pressing the record button (neither on the Sony A7III or Sony A7IV). Though, I remember that on the Sony A7III, there is an HDMI limitation with using both the HDMI external output to the monitor and the camera's LCD screen at the same time. From memory, I believe this can be resolved by disabling the 'HDMI Info. Display' setting on the A7III. Though unfortunately, this means that you will not see your camera's settings on the external monitor (only a clean feed of the picture). See this video (it's for the A7Sii but I believe it still applies): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqTZnYSalJutpKM To add onto this, I found another video where others were experiencing a similar issue with the Sony A7III: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqqboJWdrN-rrqc It might be worth also testing the solution from the top rated comment in this video: "If you are not using your monitor as a recording device: All you need to do is to turn your HDMI output to HDMI Only(24p)... you will get image on camera and monitor and still be able to record 4k internally." - @yasveerpem4772 I hope this helps! 🙂

@AlejandroUrman_5 ай бұрын
Not a problem at all, thank you for the kind words Instrujil. Personally, I only stored it in the overhead compartment of the airplane during my trip to Japan (quite slim compared to a suitcase and had no issues there). You possibly might be able to fit it under an airplane seat, if the backpack isn't fully packed. But generally, I would say that it's a bit too long (and potentially too bulky) to comfortably fit under the airplane seat. Hope this helps!😄

Breathable back with a legit frame is the key! Great video and put together all the issues I’ve been torn about with the photography trekking packs on the market. Osprey’s venting suspension back is the best.

Thank you for the kind words! Exactly right, I fully agree with you. The breathable back and quality frame made a huge difference when walking all day during my trip to Japan.

@@AlejandroUrman_ dug a little more. Some other good options seem to be the newly released Deuter Futura Pro Jaypack 36 (REI exclusive unfortunately). Only comes in a single color at the moment. Guess they are testing it out. Also, the “Ultralight Backpack Ventilation Frame by Vaucluse Backpack Ventilation Gear” is pretty sweet. Can be broken down into two sheets and used on almost any pack to improve breathability and reduce surface area contact. It doesn’t look comfortable but so far has surprisingly good reviews and the owner seems very determined and dedicated to make it work without a hitch. Much more affordable than buying a whole new pack for every different use case as well. It’s intended for ultralight packs but it seems very strong due to the structure.\

@@youngsahm03 Wow, thank you so much for sharing! Really appreciate it. These are some excellent recommendations that I had no idea about. I never knew that a frame accessory like this existed, where you can add a breathable back frame to any backpack. Very clever idea. And also, I had a look at the newly released Deuter Futura Pro Jaypack 36 that you mentioned. It looks like an awesome option! At the time when I was researching hiking backpacks that might work for my camera gear, I saw that Deuter was a leading brand but unfortunately wasn't able to find any suitable choices. But I can see on their website, that this new backpack is specifically designed for camera gear. Once again, thank you for sharing with us all!
@matthewsinger7 ай бұрын
Thanks for this. I am currently deciding between this and the Stratos 24. I don't need as quick of access and plan to stash a small camera cube insert in the bottom of the main compartment. But I agree that there is no great solution for a camera backpack for *hiking* and that a hiking backpack with camera inserts is the better and more affordable option. I've decided that a bag for travel and a bag for hiking need to be separate bags.
@AlejandroUrman_7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment Matthew! For sure and from what I can see, the Osprey Stratos 24 generally appears to be cheaper than the Manta 24 as well. Overall, it sounds like it's a better choice for your needs. See if you can try both of them out in a physical store and check what works best for you. Exactly right, there are some high quality hiking-like camera backpack options in the market from companies like Shimoda. But these are far too expensive when the right choice of a dedicated hiking backpack paired with a camera insert can achieve a similar result.
@bossmanfat69794 ай бұрын
@matthewsinger did you get a chance to check out both bags in person? Currently decided between these two bags for day hikes
@matthewsinger4 ай бұрын
@@bossmanfat6979 Yes. I went with the Manta. It has nicer side/water bottle pockets and it came with a new water bladder and, at the time, was on sale at REI for the same price as the stratos with the 20% off coupon. So far I'm happy. I found a camera insert that fits perfectly allowing me to carry two extra lenses or one lens and some other bits of gear.

How do you get the Desview r6 to show your live view on the entire screen ?

Hi Duke, You may have the 'All Wave' setting enabled (shows all the scopes on the screen and your live view on the side). How would you setup this light and reflector on the subject though? Is this setup for portraiture?
@AlejandroUrman_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaz, thank you for the question. This setup is quite multi-purpose and may be used across many different types of shoots (products, food, etc). It excels for portraiture as the softbox provides a pleasant diffused light across the face. For example, the light may be pointed at one side of the face (look into 'Rembrandt' lighting) and then the reflector may be used on the opposite side to provide a fill. Though, there are many different types of lighting setups that can be achieved with a keylight and reflector. I hope this helps! :)

Nicely edited video mate! 👍 reminded me of the build I did 3 month go. Do you have any experience with the Quest 2 powered by a 6800XT in comparison?
@AlejandroUrman_3 жыл бұрын
Hi Prolicious Gamer, glad you enjoyed the video! Yes we do have experience with the Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset and RX 6800XT combo. Upon experiencing issues with stability running Microsoft Flight Simulator, the RX 6800XT and the HP Reverb G2 VR Headset, we tried to troubleshoot the issue. As part of that troubleshooting, we chose to purchase the Quest 2 and found that it worked flawlessly. No stability issues with the RX 6800XT at all in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Unfortunately, after seeing the clarity that the HP Reverb G2 VR Headset offered, it was hard to choose to keep the Quest 2 instead of the HP Reverb G2 and we chose to return it. For the price, the Quest 2 offers a really attractive package and unless you're looking for the best visual clarity, it is an excellent option out there in the current VR market. I hope that helps!
