This would be a great time for you to bench mark the two! I can't find any info on the G2 with the 6800 xt. I'm really curious on how it preforms with the MSFS!

Hi Joe. For us, it has been a volatile situation with Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR. In Medium - High settings (reasonable balance of individual settings) within VR, you're looking at around 35 to 45 fps. Unfortunately we do have a strange issue though where the game crashes (only in VR) after about 20-30min of use. Not sure exactly what causes this issue, but we do not believe it is performance related as it occurs even in low visual settings. It seems to be a specific fault between the game and AMD drivers as this is the only game we have experienced this issue in. This is a bit of a shame as it renders the game mostly unplayable. :( I hope that helps, thanks for the question.

@@AlejandroUrman_ Thanks! I have a 2080Ti and was wondering about all that... It's a shame AMD seems to have the speed now but are not as polished as Nvidia. Thanks again. Just to let you know you are the 1st with info on with info 6800 xt and the reverb G2. This is a hot topic. Any more info will be greatly appreciated. Hope you can get the bugs out. @@joekerprich7973 Really interested in this too. It seems Nvidia is the go to choice for VR.. What i have found is that nvidia gives you a way smoother experience. A shame because if amd was an option it would double my chance of actually buying one...

Hi Prolicious Gamer, glad you enjoyed the video! Yes we do have experience with the Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset and RX 6800XT combo. Upon experiencing issues with stability running Microsoft Flight Simulator, the RX 6800XT and the HP Reverb G2 VR Headset, we tried to troubleshoot the issue. As part of that troubleshooting, we chose to purchase the Quest 2 and found that it worked flawlessly. No stability issues with the RX 6800XT at all in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Unfortunately, after seeing the clarity that the HP Reverb G2 VR Headset offered, it was hard to choose to keep the Quest 2 instead of the HP Reverb G2 and we chose to return it. For the price, the Quest 2 offers a really attractive package and unless you're looking for the best visual clarity, it is an excellent option out there in the current VR market. I hope that helps! Good evening, I ordered yesterday an RX 6800 XT to play in VR, reading all the reviews I could find on the net, I only found people who had a bad experience with VR whatever the helmet with this RX 6800 XT. From memory one person said that he performed better with a GTX 1700. As I have 15 days to return it, can you confirm that on your side, you have no problems with the VR, what is the version of the driver you have installed? Thanking you

Hi Paul. Generally, we have had a great experience with the Reverb G2 and RX 6800XT. The Reverb G2 works great when plugged in straight into the DisplayPort and USB Type-C of the RX 6800XT. We have tested the Reverb G2 with Half Life Alyx, Beat Saber and Moss and it works flawlessly. The only game in which we have experienced issues with is Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR. We have a strange issue where the game crashes (only in VR) after about 20-30min of use. Not sure exactly what causes this issue, but we do not believe it is performance related as it occurs even in low visual settings. It seems to be a specific fault between the game and AMD drivers as this is the only game we have experienced this issue in. We have the latest AMD Driver installed (Version 21.1.1). Hi Thomas, So far, the performance of the HP Reverb G2 and 6800XT in most games has been great. It runs very well in Half Life Alyx, Beat Saber and Moss. I’ve only had issues with Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR mode (game crashes after about 20-30min of use). Though unfortunately, a new issue has developed in the HP Reverb G2 headset itself. There is a black speck in the right lens (looks like a dead pixel). I am currently in the process of dealing with HP to claim the manufacturer warranty for this issue. A few months back, we did also have an issue with a stuck trigger on one of the controllers and this was replaced by HP. But apart from quality control issues with the G2 and crashes with Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR mode, the overall experience has been good.

WMR is set to 4320 X 2160 and 90hz. As measured by fpsVR and the performance graph on SteamVR, I am getting a constant 88-90fps on Half Life Alyx on Ultra Fidelity. And solid 90fps on Moss in High (that's the highest visual quality for Moss).

Did you have to install the bios? or did it work right away? because i’m thinking of getting a ryzen 5 5600x with this motherboard and was wondering if i needed to do anything to the bios !

Hi, yes we did have to update our bios before using the CPU. The motherboard we chose allows you to download a BIOS update file from the manufacturer website, copy it to a USB flash drive and flash it onto the motherboard without the CPU installed. Have a look and see if the motherboard that you're considering buying, has this feature. Thanks

I upgraded to a Aorus 6800xt but the refresh rate is locked at 60hz. Even though WMR and Steam Are set at 90hz. Which means I'm capped at 60fps. Did you run into a problem like this?

Hi Stephane, yes it works fine by plugging the G2 straight into the 6800XT video card (USB-C & DP).

hahaha all that and then your headset wasn't recognized because you have an x570 motherboard and now you have to also buy a usb hub just like me and everyone else with this chipset :D and still no update from HP. Fuck that company, never again.

Hey Flisko, I have heard about this issue. It's working fine on our end as we've plugged the headset straight into the USB-C of the video card. But, I know how frustrating it can be without this. Hopefully something changes soon!
