Wow thank you so much for this I was completely confused I’m a new type 2 diabetic. Had no idea how to do this I thought you had to test your level first before you do the control test. Didn’t realize that the number range was located on the bottle!! 😊 my meter just read 111 so I guess I’m ok!😅

have you heard of the carnivore diet? Its a 0 carb/0 sugar, high fat/protein diet . humans shouldn't be eating any carbs/sugar, we were hunters thousands of years ago. Being able to process carbs is an adaptation when there weren't any animals to hunt. some people are more adapted than others and can keep making more insulin to keep blood sugar down, and others do not have that adaptation such as in the case of t1D.

Hi Maddie. Great video. I'm on the 30's now. Do you find that you suffer from any site marking/redness/scarring from repeated use of abdomen ( if you use abdo) or indeed from regularly use in any body area?

I heard that type 2's Pancreas will eventually burnout their own Insulin production if not taken care of and eventually need Insulin. Have I got that right??

My guy friend who is a Type 2 told me very ignorantly that liquids don’t have carbs. I know that was so darn wrong. Also when he was told to take insulin he thought that he shouldn’t be taking it because he thought that that’s what could cause kidney failure. I think he was getting that mixed up with the Farxiga commercial because the first sentence in that commercial says chronic kidney disease. I told this friend that “no, Insulin is something that human bodies make and need and that with diabetes of 1 & 2 it needs to be injected.

What was the tip near the end? It said "after I change my pump" and was missing something.
@catsmeow55663 ай бұрын
Thank you for this video. My mother recently got the pump and its about time to change the canula (the cartridge still has enough insulin). The little zip bag for stuff is a great idea. That will make keeping things organized much easier. Do you have one that explains how to remove the old canula and stuff? I suppose I can find that in another video. I think it seems straightforward but I'm worried about doing it wrong and since its' a weekend the doctor's office is currently closed. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) who specializes in diabetes care is the one who set the pump up for us and put everything on. I'm my mother's caregiver and she relies on me to change out her dexcom sensors (which we've had for a couple of months now) and she will want me to help her with this as well. The NP actually showed a trick with drawing the insulin where you fill the syringe with air first and then push the air into the vial (while holding the vial upsidedown like you did) and the syringe will then fill with insulin by itself, except for the last few bits that you need to draw down. This may be a dumb question, but say its been a few days and I want to change the cartridge but there is still a good amount of insulin in it (because the NP filled it to max): Can I remove the cartridge and draw the insulin out of it to put it in a new cartridge? Or should I just keep using that particular cartridge until the pump tells me its time to change it?
