How come you only have 1 blueberry bush? For cross pollination are you considering another?Also do you test your soils PH? My blueberries are in pots and i prep the soil. I dont put in the ground because the soil isn't ideal

I have blueberries planted in pots and have harvested a good amount in the past. (4 pots different varieties to cross pollinate) My plants are about 4 yrs old and this summer i didnt get 1 blueberry because i messed up the soil with too much hollytone, plus we had some weird weather with super cold spurts that they didn't survive. Im in NJ so I'm waiting for the ones with the leaves to die back so i can return them to my green house. 😢

I'm sorry to hear that! I notice blueberries do better than raspberries when in pots, or at least in my experience. When I use hollytone, I either sprinkle around the base or if I am transplanting, I mixed it in the soil before putting the plant in the ground.

This is something I have experienced myself and also came to know that same had been scientifically proved Whenever you're out in your Garden, ALWAYS be totally barefoot because our soles love and deserve that freedom. They love to feel various textures of soil between their toes. Apart from n it's very healthy to be barefoot outside. Take for example two plants, one grown inside a pot and tge other grown in Nature. However much you water and use fertilizer, it never looks as healthy as the latter. This is simply because the roots have a limited space to stread and the Nurishment too is the same. The soles of our feet are like the roots of a tree.When you're not barefoot that natural process is obstructed. Our soles are designs to absorb things which are essential to lead a healthy lifestyle. However, use of footwear deprives this process. Apaurt from that there are a large number of Sensors / Nerve endings on the soles of our feet, which connects from head to toe. When we walk on Sand, Gravel and Tiny Stones /Pebbles,our entire body gets stimulated through these sensors. Once again Footwear deprives this natural process. So, go barefoot always for good health and happy feet and soles

snails ate my harvest, are you crushing them?
@DandAgardensАй бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that! I haven't had any issues with slugs luckily, but there are some methods to deal with them that I have heard of. One way is filling a shallow dish with beer and burying it half-way into the soil, so the slugs get lured and trapped. Or using diatomaceous earth on top of the soil around the effected plants. Good luck!

I had a late start this year and had similar issues. I can see powdery mildew on some plant leaves, like squash. I had that issue and I carefully z(trying to not let spores become airborne) removed all leaves with powdery mildew leaves from the plants and I had end rot also from inconsistent watering and I simply removed those, I did not know it before but squash flowers may have to be pollinated twice to prevent end rot and since both good and bad microbes live in the soil it is best if you don’t have hardly any leaves touching soil by thinning those leaves from the bottom and using sticks and by tying plants or using the Florida plant tying where you crisscross between the sticks around your plants early in the season. I live in Ohio and I use a greenhouse so my problems may not be exactly the same as yours but seems like you are doing better than I have so far with learning so stay proud and diligent and next year will be better.

my opinion on the cucumbers is that it could be soil density. cucumber roots are thin and light weight. they don't do well in digging deep.

I have never had good luck with the Roma type tomatoes so I just gave up on them. I do oxhearts now instead. I don’t have the issue with the end rot and they are meaty enough for sauces. Amish Paste, Wes, and Kosovo varieties work well in my garden. Good luck on the rest of your season. This has been a challenging one here with all the rain we have had.
