I feel like it's more likely that it was either from the molding process, or it's from getting splashed with some a liquid of some description. It's possible that the owner spilled hot broth or soup onto it, hence why it was opened up and cleaned. Alternatively, I've heard that one of the most common ways that people ruin their electronics is the result of candles being lit next to them, so it's also likely that there could have been candles nearby that were either depositing wax onto the plastic or just burning it from proximity.

Excuse my lack of musical terminology: I have yet to get through the video as I'm not even a minute in so sorry if you did mention it later on, but I was very confused to start hearing "Ratchet & Clank - Kerwan - Metropolis's" beginning synth. I can see that it's not part of the soundtrack as I skimmed through the whole soundtrack, so I guess it's just a part of 7th Level's intro judging by another video of the splash animation. I'm gonna assume this track is a part of a music disc that both 7th Level and Insomniac must've taken from, cause they sound nearly identical. It'd be really interesting to know what this disc is, kind-of like the search for the original SM64 Metal Mario texture. (R&C Song in question: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnjcgWSajM9nhbs

I remember back in the days of Switch speculation there were concepts (or maybe even parents?) floating around of shoulder buttons that were scroll wheels, and I kinda wish we'd gotten to see that, because I can think of at least two uses for it

I don’t know if anyone brought it up, but I think I know how the first controller works. When you did the test it showed the inputs as the astrological symbols, so I think that it’s basically just a D-pad with 12 buttons.
@transbordadorburan839813 күн бұрын
Those symbols shows because of the font, if you for example, open a notepad and use the controller you will see what key is using :)

Funny how Sega Rally plays similar to how it does with the Saturn 3D pad, you're actually better off using the d-pad as that's been optimized to add some very nice "fake" analog movement, which makes it so much fun to play with a regular saturn controller But when they added support for it in Sega Rally Plus it feels pretty awful, as the 3D multi pad doesn't excel at precise movement from the center to the edge, (perfect for NiGHTS, and only NiGHTS) which makes it feel like you've got a steering wheel that violently slams from all the way right to all the way left, without the automatic easing into the directions that's been coded into the digital controls. Real bummer, even worse that they added it to the back of PLUS as a selling point, whilst steering with the 3D pad feels just as bad as it does in the original with the 3D pad, all they really added was a picture in the menu and analog accelleration and break.

I like how tow the Sidewinder Game Pad and Freestyle Pro have 6 buttons, it makes me think of the Sega Genesis 6-Button Game Pad or the Saturn Game Pad. Interestingly enough, Sega and Microsoft have a history as the Dreamcast has support for Windows CE and its gamepad would influence the design of the original Xbox controller. Though oddly the Dreamcast had a 4-button layout instead of the traditional 6, while the Xbox "Duke" controller _did_ have a 6-button layout, only instead of "C" and "Z" buttons it had "White" and "Black" buttons located to the right of B and Y, but the S controller would relocate these buttons to below A and B, making them awkward if you wanted to play Capcom vs SNK 2 with a proper 6-button pad. (Of course, with the bad D-pad, you'd be better off either getting an arcade stick or playing the PS2 version with its still-not-perfect-but-at-least-not-squishy D-pad.) Why did the Dreamcast controller get rid of the C and Z buttons anyway? The 3D pad also had an analog stick and triggers, plus 6-buttons, the Dreamcast should've kept that! Oh well, the 4-button layout has become standard anyway, and I can't imagine a PlayStation or Nintendo controller using a 6-button layout unless it's a third party controller for fighting games that move the bumpers to the face.

I played this one back on the PS2, and I think people are entirely correct to look back on it fondly. Yes, even back circa 2005 it was offensively linear & awkwardly pace, plus full of bland Kong sections. I remember thinking this when I played it! What really sold this game (in 2005) was ATMOSPHERE. Giant centipedes & packs of dinosaurs hunting you from a first-person perspective. Being able to distract the local wildlife by offering them an easier meal than you. Almost entirely diagetic interface, complete with your character counting bullets out-loud instead of a HUD. Characters that look like recognisable film actors, voiced by the original cast, interacting with the player character in gameplay. Carrying one item at a time (and a holstered/slung gun) so there's a constant awareness of your HANDS and what you're carrying. I'm judging a lot of the atmosphere as a person who DIDN'T play Resident Evil 4 in 2004, of course.
@Alien_Bob14 күн бұрын
I respect your opinion, and maybe one day I'll travel back in time to play again in its original context. Maybe.

It may be missing the one rubber nub but at least 3D printers exist. If it only has one rumble motor then maybe whoever made this went on to work at Nintendo to make the game cube controller? Lol jk
