I found your channel because I was watching Star Trek TNG, looked up an actor on the episode I was watching, saw she was in Deep Space Nine, saw that there was actually a DS9 video game (The Fallen), saw your video on that game and here I am. I'm liking the content my guy my dude! I rented Buck Bumble so many damn times from my video store. That damn theme song was so catchy and I thought the idea of flying around and shooting things as a bee was cool. I vividly remember being terrible at the game and never beating it but still renting it over and over. I think my child brain just loved the idea of the game so much that I just needed to keep trying. I also remember renting Blues Brothers 2000 for the N64...more than once. I have no idea why I put myself through that.

I have not heard very good things about Blues Brothers 2000, but I guess as kids we were just happy to have a little guy on the TV we could control!

You know when an indie game comes out clearly filling in a gap left by a popular game in a series that's no longer around? I'd like to see more devs take heavy inspiration from games that didn't quite live up to their potential. One inspired by Buck Bumble could be neat
@Alien_Bob9 ай бұрын
Completely agree. A throwback backyard insect flight combat game would really hit the spot.

I've been trying to learn gamedev specifically so that I could be the person to make a game inspired by PS2 super-robot flop "Robot Alchemic Drive," because its systems are so damn cool. Check back with me in like ten years lol

It doesn't matter if it takes years, Do it! Please let me know when you have something to show, I'd love to see it

I want to make a game inspired by the PS1 game Running High. Follow that dream, I say, even if it takes ten years!

@@Alien_Bob Exactly! Like I said with the other comment, I'd love to see what you come up with when you do it :)

Welcome to the algorithm my dude And you're absolutely correct about the feeling unfinished, but you're wrong about the rest of the soundtrack. It slaps. Not as slapping as the title song but slaps all the same.
@Alien_Bob8 ай бұрын
I may have been a little too harsh on it in retrospect but they're pretty short loops that get repetitive real quick and don't hold a candle to the title track.

Awesome game but pretty hard and unforgiving in some parts but the vibes, music and aesthetics still holds up to today and they don't make games with original cool ideas and clunkiness like this anymore, games nowadays became stagnant

It's funny to consider that in a way, this is the true sequel to SNES StarFox. SF64 was developed internaly at Nintendo - Buck Bumble is taking the concept of Star Fox and truly evolving it. Sure, it's probably a worse game than SF64, but much more ambitious.
