Thank you! I will get round to doing this over the next couple of months! I have some real life stuff that has slowed down my filming and editing in all honesty.. The next scheduled upload will be a drift comp and then I will do a LP86 video and a full tutorial on how I do my missile / beater style body shells. 🫡

dont rlly understund why to choose the tamiya one, u could just do an oil change on the old one. Definatelly dont like the thing with the spacers to eliminate play...hope ur gears wont get messed up.

Well as stated the original one was borrowed 4-5 months ago and is being returned to its original owner… that was the main deciding factor in replacing the diff unit. To be completely honest, the mesh is identical, the only worry I have is the shimming isn’t ideal but, I’ve been shimming diffs in various cars for the past 15 years without issue. Being brutally truthful it’s only a matter of time before the idler in the RDX sh*ts it’s self anyways and then I have a decent reason to upgrade it to a YD2z Box like I have been thinking about anyways 🤷♂️

@@Doritune.rcdrift Sorry mate didn't understood its was borrowed! Well Ydz2's gearbox is kinda the same quality. In my experience the problem is on the bearings, not the gear itself. Faulty, dirty or low quality bearings cause gears cutting teeth when they stuck, or when there is different friction from side to side. That's why i dont like shimming bearings. 😢

They are alloy M3 flat head washers.. 2mm thick with a recess that fit perfectly over the little slots on the bulkhead. It’s a love hate relationship from me, I love it, but I hate it. They are very predictable, really grippy but I was struggling to balance getting pace out of it… long story short it’s been shelved for 6 months and is going to a friend so he can get some enjoyment out of it whilst I focus on other projects. Already eyeing up replacing it with another MRX in the new year 🤫😂

I owned 7 drift cars they all looked nice. But the mrx GT is the only one I assembled and put it on the tile and it worked! Drove like a dream. Then I switched out the V4 for a gyd550 and it was a basket case but with some patience it’s a slide monster again. Recently I purchased a Rmx ex GT haven’t gotten it on the track yet but it come highly recommended from the guys at victory hobbies here in Bellevue.
