They are alloy M3 flat head washers.. 2mm thick with a recess that fit perfectly over the little slots on the bulkhead. dont rlly understund why to choose the tamiya one, u could just do an oil change on the old one. Definatelly dont like the thing with the spacers to eliminate play...hope ur gears wont get messed up.

Well as stated the original one was borrowed 4-5 months ago and is being returned to its original owner… that was the main deciding factor in replacing the diff unit. To be completely honest, the mesh is identical, the only worry I have is the shimming isn’t ideal but, I’ve been shimming diffs in various cars for the past 15 years without issue. Being brutally truthful it’s only a matter of time before the idler in the RDX sh*ts it’s self anyways and then I have a decent reason to upgrade it to a YD2z Box like I have been thinking about anyways 🤷‍♂️

@@Doritune.rcdrift Sorry mate didn't understood its was borrowed! Well Ydz2's gearbox is kinda the same quality. In my experience the problem is on the bearings, not the gear itself. Faulty, dirty or low quality bearings cause gears cutting teeth when they stuck, or when there is different friction from side to side. That's why i dont like shimming bearings. 😢
