I know this is talking about the state of porting PS2 games on to PS4 and was years ago but I do encourage people to emulate if you have a decent laptop/PC if you truly appreciate the PS2 library.

When he says most people dont think of these games hes meaning the majority of gamers not a fighting niche/fanbase. Ask the average gamer what they think of when they think of PS2 and vast majority across the world will not mention KoF. Tekken and Street Fighter had and have a far greater fanbase and recognition on PS2 than KoF. Don’t get mad because he’s telling the truth.

To avoid the hassle getting to play Ps2 games on new consoles, I just hooked up my PS2, and get a PS2 wireless controller, and buy the ps2 games from the second market. Might even do that hard drive mod so I can boot without discs

You know after so many years I’ve decided that I’m going to buy a ps2 the original. I still can’t believe that I skipped so many ps 1 and 2 games just to get on the higher graphics bandwagon with the ps 3. Lately I have been replaying resident evil 2 and dino crisis for the ps 1 and I’m not stopping. I’m literally having a blast. I can’t wait for alone in the dark ps 1 thats coming by post. Now as for personal tastes especially in terms of aesthetics with home console exterior design, I would say the ps 2 original was the most interesting looking consoles I ever had the pleasure of using as well as the culture at the time of its prime and the amazing library of games. Compared to the ps3 which wasn’t that bad but the ps 4 never ceases to put a sad face on me. Its really an annoying looking thing with arguably amazing games.

looking back on this with sony bringing ps1 and psp games to the ps4/5, its nice to see that they actually let (at least some) games purchased on the ps3 store be playable without buying again both lineups are getting a good amount of varied titles at a steady rate, which is a whole lot better than the _one_ ps2 game added since this video (ace combat 5 during january 2019, which even then could only be purchased by preordering ace combat 7) even more disapointedly is there were more games that were rated for it that didnt come out for whatever reason (ape escape 3, the summoner, summoner 2, alter echo, panzer elite action, splashdown rides gone wild, stuntman ignition), and based on the looks of it, well never get another ps2 entry on here

for anyone like me who prefers pc versions for graphics/resolution/aspect ratio meddling n' modding and enjoys seeking for pure exclusives, heres my list of best titles to get here: dark cloud the mark of kri rogue galaxy twisted metal black war of the monsters parappa the rapper 2 fantavision (theres also a remake? that got released a few months ago) arc the lad twilight of the spirits star wars bounty hunter (also on gamecube) star wars jedi starfighter (also on xbox one) star wars racer revenge dark chronicle rise of the kasai okage shadow king kinetica wild arms 3 primal siren ape escape 2 everybodys tennis destroy all humans (also on xbox one) destroy all humans 2 (also on og xbox) harvest moon a wonderful life special edition (also has slightly different gcn ver and a full remake from this year thats also on ps4) harvest moon save the homeland (also has psp remake, dunno how much different it is) eternal ring star ocean til the end of time jak x combat racing ace combat 5 the unsung war (for whatever dumb reason this was only available when prepurchasing ac7)

The Wii u had virtual console but all the games released were just the same games that were on the Wii virtual console and some were straight removed. It a gba vc but it only had a select amount of games and the n64 wiiu virtual console was just bad. Look it was so dark you could barely see anything

So far I've enjoyed every PS2 game I've played on PS4 (Jak, Bully, Psychonauts, Siren) so the title and thumbnail caught me off guard, until you elaborated. A bit misleading. You say your issue is with how limited the list of available games is but you made it seem like you disliked the games that made into the list.

You make a fair point and I appreciate the constructive criticism. Every ps2 game you you've enjoyed on the ps4 also happens to be the same games I've enjoyed. Especially Bully, one of my all time favorites.

Hey I'm looking for an open world rpg game that was released on PS2 can't remember the name but it had a (lady warrior and a talking dragon as a companion) if anyone is familiar. You could buy or find equipment with elemental attributes and some task required the only the lady can enter or task that only the dragon could do. Sorry for the low description as it's been along time and trying to find it for my Nan. It was her fav game
