The hooky bass at the end. Julie has so many inspirations that show in her work, you could pull at least 7 or 8 artists and bands there elements of here. As a wise man one said about us "Manchester kids have the best record collections"

I have been listening to this song for the past 3 years, but only the KEXP version. Heard it on local radio today, couldn't believe what I was hearing, I thought it was some cool cover. Even better than the KEXP version!

This video is a masterclass to a masterpiece. My God! It’s ALL there in GarageBand! I exclaim like Dave Bowman in 2001: A Space Odyssey: “My God. It’s full of stars!” - in total awe of your artistry and craft. This video documents an aural Book of Kells, a mastery as intricate as a Faberge egg. Reverb drenched drum fills and electronic percussion haunted by the shade of Martin Hannett. He must be smiling up there. Street sirens heard in the background - The mean streets of Manchester outside filtering in over Michael Jackson-like vocal stabs Niggly guitar rhythms intercut with the majestic synth lines - Oh those glissando trumpets of Yamaha. The space you have carved out in Silvering defies time, and logic, it’s alchemical… …somewhere in the atmosphere of the 12 inch tracks between Movement and Power, Corruption, the golden period, the foetal stage of New Order, and the space between Murmur and The Reckoning where you have found this treasure and you mined it for all the notes that they never took. That are now yours forever. And Barney had Hook had Stephen had Gillian had Michael had Peter had Mike had Bill and they all had each other to bounce off. The fact that you have done this solo is awe inspiring. Everest single handed, without Sherpas. Behold the view! It is yours. (F@&k Me! To be a recording artist in the 21st-century, it beggars belief the multiple skillsets needed. Not only are you a musician on top game, a master of post-punk and funk guitar, a singer, a lyricist-poet, but you are a Martin Rushent in the studio, with a mastery of all electronics, AND a studio engineer, AND producer with an array of recording techniques and feels. And to top it off, to show this to the world - video production and presentation skills. ) And you had me at “Guitars as distant weather patterns on the horizon.”

A very good friend of mine passed away recently, far too young. I’m going through all our old WhatsApp messages and leaving this message in his honour on every tune he recommended to me… on whatever platform. RIP Nick Frewin, aka Beardo… you were more of an older brother than a friend. We connected over music, food, humour , family and friends. I miss you already, live large wherever you are brother ❤️

Great to see these memories of the tour. The Mash House gig was a wonderful uplifting night in an otherwise depressing month.
