Prowess has little importance when I pick traits and personalities for this specific speedrun, but as this is a one lifetime world conquest I do want to live for a loooong time. To do that I need to counter some game mechanics that might prevent that. The obvious being max out on health, but also max natural dread to make everyone fear me, and stress relieve to not get health penalties from mental breakdowns. And it just so happens that the traits giving health boost, dread and stress relieve also gives prowess, e. g. sadistic gives stress relieve when executing + 35 nat dread but also gives +4 prowess.

Coalition is not a thing in CK3. If you mean uprisings/rebellions there are some, but few. This was played with the high stability game rule on (ironman compatible). Yeah, manually asking so many to convert does eat a lot of time, so a function auto-asking vassals' vassals would be neat. I try to keep my speedruns un-modded, though. Both to comply with CK3 speedrun.com rules and out of personal preference.

@@masiro3454 There are several ways to achieve a one-faith, but easiest are as either any Catholic or Sunni nation. If you want to use my WC route and top it off with a one-faith, you can just throw Religious ideas in the ideas mix early on and start converting. I would take ideas as follows: Influence, Religious, Diplomatic, Administrative, and finish off with whatever military ideas you prefer. I like Quantity, Offensive, and Defensive, but it really doesn't matter. If you go for a Sunni WC and One Faith, just start as Ottomans and take Religious, Diplomatic, and Adminstrative ideas and you should be en route for a Sunni One Faith. Remember the special Sunni religious centers through trade, that helps a bunch with conversion.

I'm at ~8000 hours and I still learn new tricks here and there. Just learned something new from a comment on this very video. The learning never stops with this game, it seems :D

With Otto you start off incredibly OP and should literally just start conquering everything from day 1. It's a more linear World Conquest. As Austria your late game following my route is much stronger than Ottomans, but you have to collect all your modifiers which takes time. Bonus is of course that you get all of the HRE for free and PU colonizers instead of the hassle of fully annexing them. Not to mention the vassal swarm which in a speedrun setting allows you to fight multiple wars without wasting too much time. So it depends on who you are as a player. Do you like to keep it simple? Go for Otto. Do you like modifier collection, a bunch of tag-switching and can handle -20 monthly ducats in the early-game? Then Austria is your bet. As for a no exploits speedrun I think Austria is the fastest. A Mughals HRE is pretty hard to beat in terms of speed.

Thank you! There's a setting called "No limits on Idea Groups" in the options menu when you select your nation. Neither setting breaks ironman so both is allowed in speedrunning.

Glad you enjoyed the run! :) I never play horde so I was very surprised how much fun this actually was. Fun to the point I did a horde WC speedrun finishing around 12.5 hours. I planned to upload it, but forgot, and now the video is lost. Probably will give it another go with the new horde mission tree at some point. I upgraded my computer last year (see my 12 hour HRE WC for comparison; late game was a lagfest). Iirc I went from I7-5700 to I7-12700. Needless to say, the difference is very noticeable.

Thank you! In the options menu on the nation selection screen you can toggle "No limits on Idea Groups". It's disabled by default, but enabling it does not break ironman and is allowed in speedruns too.

Awesome that you’re interested in catching my runs live! It makes sense you missed this one as it was never streamed. I have streamed shorter runs in the past and as I'm getting more used to commentating while speedrunning I’m warming up to the idea of giving streaming another go. The next run I've planned is a glitchless HRE WC going for world record when 1.37 releases, and I think that'll be a nice run to livestream attempts with. In the meantime I have an offline horde WC speedrun in the bank I’ll release at some point :)

The emperor died before I won the siege of Beijing. The time lost is not THAT significant - 5 minutes maybe. But seeing as it is at the very start of the run I definitely could have, and maybe should have, reset. But well, now it's free time save for next run :)

@@MiklMaar I see thanks for clarifying. I dont play eu4 anymore sadly so I might be wrong but there should be better map mode that changes the color of the province after you raze it. Also if you're willing to redo this i'd watch it again from the start. I don't know why but watching oirat is actually fun as hell and I think next run might be different since in this run ming area was in not the usual state. I'm not sure about this one as well but there should be a way to assign a shortcut to the raze button :) Anyways hella good video and with commentary it was a pleasure to watch.

@@woski736 That's awfully nice and motivating words. Thank you! I recently started commentating my runs again, so my commentary will get better as I get more used to it. Happy that you're following! :) If any mapmode display raze-ready provinces different from already razed it would definitely be helpful in any horde speedrun. I'm colourblind though, so it would have to not be in the green-yellow-red palette that so many EU4 mapmodes use. Unfortunately there's no way to assign razing to a hotkey without modding, even with the ability to define custom hotkeys that was added some major patches back. That would be a huge time save, so if you find a way please let me know.

@@MiklMaarHello, thank you for your kind words didnt know that you are colorblind :) I played hordes a lot and I was almost sure that raze button had a shortcut which is “z” and I was right. Paradox removed it sadly but you can assign a shortcut in a minute via editing a gui file. I replied your message with a link and looks like youtube flagged it. I think you can find it easily. About the map mode it was diplo mad mode but looks like its changed by Paradox as well :(

Hopefully there's something good to take from this video too :) Personally I find it more flavorful to pick and choose what tags to switch to and execute that plan, over just spamming Eyalets everywhere. But I definitely had fun routing and doing both runs. It is quite cool how two fundamentally different strats are both viable in a speedrun setting.

Yeah, an England->GB run for sure could be fun. Iirc there's an achievement for completing the English mission tree, so it's not completely arbitrary in terms of speedrun-categories either. I'll definitely consider it :))

Yeah, it's pretty crazy how low the BBB time is now. Far lower than I thought possible even with speed 5. Back in the day for full Burgundian Inheritance you needed the ruler of Burgundy to die, then his son to die without an heir (or an heir with weak claim). That starts the event chain which gives you a chance to get Burgundy as a PU. Now you had to wait for Marie of Burgundy to die (a MTTH event of 15 years) to inherit Burgundy for free. This all needed to happen within the 20 years that BBB takes. Very unrealistic and not worth grinding for. Now France has a mission that forces that last part, which makes it much more doable (still 325 attempts, though). It does require me to conquer back all my cores first which was why the Alencon steal was so crucial.

When you take the HRE-reform "Revoke the Privilegia" all princes inside the HRE become your direct vassals for free and without using a dip relation slot. There are other possible huge vassal swarms (like Japanese Daimyos or Ottoman Eyalets), but the HRE is particularly nice for a 1-tag world conquest as you inherit them all by taking the final reform.
