Yeah i think deniro is just so entrenched in art that he's like the fish being told by the other fish, "nice water today, huh?" Deniro fish replies, "what the fuck is water?" None of it is all that profound to him because he's seen every story every theme everything that every story's ever had to say.

DeNiro is such a great actor but has always been a lousy interview. It would be interesting to talk about the character of Joker and to see how society has really messed this guy up. If you objectively watch the movie and see how badly this man is treated by society. In the beginning of the movie, a bunch of teenagers steal his sign that he’s using to advertise a going out of business sale for a store. He’s dressed up as a clown and he’s out front of the store trying to draw in customers. He runs after the teenagers and they wind up jumping him in an alley and crack the wooded sign across his face and kick him and stomp on him while he’s down. He’s just a poor mentally challenged guy on medication that has trouble dealing with society. It would of been interesting to really talk about the movie and get the feelings of the actors who created these characters. But DeNiro. Doesn’t seem to want to participate and talk about the movie. It’s a shame too because it seems to be art imitating life and the movie really has something to say about us in society. I would of really enjoyed DeNiro’s perspective on the characterization and the feelings that the character represents. I consider it a lost opportunity.

I think Juaquins loves that Niro doesn't take himself seriously but I'm like very sure that he sees that Niro doesn't even take the craft of acting seriously either...unlike his past. He seems disappointed in Niro hence over-the-top clapping and laughing. It sounds disapproving than reassuring.

@ThisEpicLife2 жыл бұрын
I'm no fan of DeNiro, but I do have to sort of defend him here: I think when they interviewer says Murray "pushed him into becoming" the Joker, Deniro interpreted it to mean that Murray consciously encouraged him to take on the new persona, kind of like a therapist encouraging someone to make changes in their life... and DeNiro seemed a little confused by this. I could see him trying to process this and thinking, "What the hell are you talking about? My character wasn't even aware of his identity, much less try to convince him to become this 'Joker'. " IMHO it was an ambiguously-worded question, and it just threw DeNiro.
@ashith12972 жыл бұрын
Don't use clicbait in the title. He clearly said that he understood the theme of the movie, and how wouldn't he? Guy has done the same thing 40 years before this, of course understands it. And to those who are saying that Robert prbbly doesn't like the character's motives and morals then you are highly mistaken coz this is the guy who has played every type of Gangster role one can think of. He was in Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Godfather II, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, Irishman and so on...So he's never gonna have any trouble doing or associating with violent roles. Here he's just being his usual self - not really interested in interview and acting like audience-oriented presenter. He's always been a little introverted and just doesn't like to follow most of the conventional media- showbiz rubbish.

Robert De Niro should have played Batman when he was younger. His subtle acting style works for his character and Bruce Wayne. Considering he is from NYC, he could embody a wealthy Gotham socialite with ease. De Niros portrayal of a similarly troubled, lonely and capable character such as Neil from heat in my mind displays he can portray Batman well. I would have wanted to have him play opposite a Joker played by Mel Gibson. The overall movie would have needed a really polished style befit Deniro; allow Bob to write some of his own lines in and let her rip
@Karlebow5712 жыл бұрын
I would’ve say Robert De Niro can play falcone and Joe Pesci as the penguin
@charlesshankle31782 жыл бұрын
@@Karlebow571 both good choices. Pesci as the penguin would be especially cool, a truly unhinged Penguin. I also like Mel Gibson as the Joker. Imagine an evil Martin Riggs, a true madman. Contrast that with DeNiro and his subtle acting style, clean Gotham and in my mind you have a really cool, almost believable Batman movie.
@gvngbvngiggy8 ай бұрын
Those are some of the weirdest choices ive ever heard of for batman and joker lmao
@charlesshankle31788 ай бұрын
@@gvngbvngiggy I don't see how it's weird. Gibson has excelled at playing unhinged characters such as Martin Riggs and Conrad Fairbanks in The Expendables for example. DeNiro has a subtle acting style and has played loners, vigilantes such as Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver. Polished such as young Vito Corleone in the Godfather. In my mind, it wouldn't be a huge undertaking for DeNiro to be a happy median of those two characters without the moral failings. Mel Gibson as the joker would play a true psychopath. Think of a Martin Riggs gone bad and wearing face paint, purple suits, etc. The precedent is there for both men

It's more like you don't understand De Niro, lol. I don't know what's more embarrassing to the times we live in: trying to "analyze" the Joker, or picking "The Shining" as the Kubrick movie to dissect and find deep meaning in, lol. De Niro hardly ever talks about his classic roles in any detail, I seriously doubt that the guy who was in "The Deer Hunter", "Raging Bull", "The Godfather Part II", "Taxi Driver", "The King Of Comedy", "The Mission", "Goodfellas", "Cape Fear", "Jackie Brown", "Mean Streets", "Brazil", "Awakenings", "Casino", (Etc etc) is going to sit there and give you some pretentious dissection of a dopey comic book movie.
