I noticed the Lewis funeral home has been rebuilt on the circle that’s where we had services for Aunt Connie my mothers brother Uncle Ike we are of Scottish descent he was married to an Italian lady her & her people very nice they moved out of E/P in spring of 2002 to a new house in North Aurora Illinois she passed on in September of 2002 I’m sorry I’m in error moved to North Aurora Spring of 2001 when new house built they liked E/P for all the comviences but started to see some change and felt it was time to go when they lived there he had 3 vehicles Stolen a new Chevy 4x4 truck a new Olds Regency 98 And a Chevy Celebrity and when my Grandma his mother retired & came to live with them she could not believe how her car insurance doubled in cost comeing from DesPlaines Illinois the insurance companies have Elmwood Park red lined being next to Chicago LOL

Sometimes its a small world. I was born in 1944 on 21st pl west of Pulaski. In 1969 Basic training at Ft Leonard Wood MO. On night watch the two of us started talking. Wound up he was from the same area - he was black. The two things I remember most was when he said it was really clever to burn Whitey out in 68. Now the local stores were gone he had to drive to shop. The other was he went for a job in Cicero. He got off the bus and some guys informed him he got off at the wrong stop. When I went in in 69 it was hard to get past 1st base with a girl. Got out in 71 and it was free love. It was a strange time.

1:33 less than a block west I was born there 80 years ago. Nice Czech Bohemian neighborhood. No TV then so people in the summer would take a evening walks on 21st pl to cool off. The street ended at Kostner Ave. The Sparta Stadium was on the other side of Kostner. Grandparents live in the last apartment before the intersection. We moved West before things changed, A long time ago in a land far away.

Absolutely. Don't trust all the Media capitalising on crime. Yes there are bad areas, like any city, but also safe areas where you'd be fine. Just do your research and talk to people who actually live there, rather than trusting anything written for views or clicks :)
