Yes other countries do, but you do not see them as prevalent as in Romania on the main roads etc. Its meant to be a positive comment if you read what I said. I hope it doesn't change is what I said. Your comment doesn't make sense. It is a characteristic of Romania for sure, there are horses and carts on the roads everywhere in most towns and villages, some places more than others. Did I say it was a 'national image'? Don't do what many people these days try and do, which is put words into people's mouths or speech. Its also a figure of speech in English , 'only in France', 'only in Africa' etc etc so lighten up and relax. Its a great thing to still see that mode of transport being used. It is part of the Romanian fabric so it is part of the national image if you really wanted to argue the point. Problem with people like you, you take everything far too seriously and that' s a problem globally now with people quick to criticise, cancel, virtue signal and act like woke muppets. Simple nice clip about a nice horse and cart juxtaposed with a modern highway and vehicles and nice comments saying I hope this never changes....chill out.

@@BitsofEurope I lived in Romania and only if one goes very rural can see those carts, it is not like this is the image of Romania. They are used to cary agricultural products so it is very connected with the agriculture production and practical application. Also gypsies are using them since they can't read and write and can't take the driving licence exam. Gypsies refuse to send the children to school to learn to read and write. So things are more complex than just seeing a cart and horse for which a westerner will magnify this point . If you have a chance to visit Romania look for other things which are more representative of the culture and nation not only this cart and horse that most westerner media is using as the image of Romania.

Back under Ukrainian control. Has been since April 2022, was only briefly in Russian hands. Area is now well fortified to prevent any further attempts through Belarus. If you look at my channel Bits of Europe you will see a video I made in the zone earlier this year while still off limits. Managed to get special permission to get back in there.

Very good question and above my pay grade. But as you suggest the very essence of the word 'biological' implies something to do with life or a living organism. I would 'hazard' a guess and say its abstract in its use to do with a nuclear core and means its a shield to protect biological organisms like ourselves from radiation and the hazard it poses to our biology.

Yeh its a scary thought that after all those years, Russian troops dug in and exposed large amounts of radiation that are beneath the surface. Most areas even near the arch are quite normal, but driving past the Red Forest areas, the dosimeters still go off like mad. If you took the private tour while the zone was still open, part of it is actually inside the 'tin can' or new containment vessel, which in turn contains the old remnants and shielding. Also fascinating that the plant still operates as an electricity hub, monitoring and diverting electricity around the grid nationally. One of the old control rooms for Reactor 1 is still used to do this and its like a throw back to the old Soviet times, you walk in and the staff are in the white gowns and hats, air is full of smoke as signs on the wall still say 'smoking permitted'. 😁 Fascinating place. Been back twice now during the occupation and probably go again over winter.

Technically yes, what we walked on is part of the overall biological shield and is the reactor lid or cap, but many still refer to it as the shield.

This is reactor 3. The radiation here is almost zero. You get more radiation next to a commercial airliner than here.
