I’ve fished Flint in September & large cattle herds have definitely muddied the water for long stretches of time.

I can't say for sure but it is a silty river and its flow is controlled by a dam. Maybe those were factors.

But can you access the forceps when you sling the bag around in front of you while wearing it?
@FlyFishingwithLadin
@FlyFishingwithLadin 7 күн бұрын
No you are right you cannot. I would jut take them out and have them in my hand as I swing it around and use it. Most of the time I actually take the pack off when I am doing anything.

Wonderful how good fishing can be when you have to pay and book your appointment. May as well fish in an aquarium.

Not sure I catch the connection between management of a resource and an aquarium. But to each there own.

Used to fish Sprague all the time. It has some huge small mouth as well. Gets extremely weedy mid summer.

Hi Ladin, Pat here in Sandoint, Idaho. A friend and I are going to go and give the Blackfoot Reservation Lakes a shot in Mid-April. We are thinking of Mission, Four Horn, and Dog Gun on our trip. Can you tell me if you had to get a guide to fish these lakes? And also wondering about public fishing access and the possible lack thereof. I snagged a copy of the Fairchild book from '93, and although dated, does show routes to the lakes. Any input appreciated. Thanks much.

Hi Pat - We have used David Parsons with Cutbank Creek Outfitters but he can be hard to get a hold of and I am not sure if he is still guiding. If the fly shop in East Glacier is still open I would call them Also, there is a hotel in East Glacier that the owner used to know lots about the fishing. I don't think you had to have a guide when we fished, we just did. Those lakes are all excellent. This year mid April should be ok. Sometimes ice is not off by then. Good luck

Hi guys I’ve been watching all of your videos while convalescing from my first meniscus repair last July until now after they went back in yesterday to try and see why it still hurts. My wife and I horse packed Slough Creek with Black Otter Outfitters a few years ago. Started the trip in the Park and rode all the way out of Wyoming into Montana to Frenchy’s Meadow and the headwaters. Do you see rattlesnakes and grizzlies during your walk and wade jaunts to rivers in the west? We’re planning on retiring next year and dragging a trailer around North America fishing. Great shows🎣 Thanks Chris
