I read where one is more environmentally friendly that is what the e means so basically the pf48e and pf48 are the same filter just one has metal in it and the other has more plastic

Some models do have an oil cooler, mine, however, did not. The oil cooler lines would be attached in this area also. This one did not have that.

Well guys, she's over pressurizing again a year later. We've been having a lot of days where it's over 100° and when I go to leave from work, as soon as I turn the A/C on, it ruptures around the compressor. It will steady relieve itself until I turn the A/C off. Pulled the orifice tube off today and nothing clogging it at all. Tiny amount of metal on the filter screen. Replaced the orifice tube with a new variable orifice valve and replaced the pressure relief valve. Tomorrow, I'm going to replace the clutch cycle switch which is on top of the accumulator/dryer. I need to put some pag oil back in it since the pressure relief valve sprayed oil and refrigerant all over the compressor. Research says the compressor holds 3 oz and I may put 3 back in it through the vacuum pump. I'll pull a vacuum and see if we have any leaks and go from there.

I ordered a genuine GM battery sensor from RockAuto around 85 bucks. It will be under Electrical, and Generator Battery Control Module or look up part number 19432143 which is the latest updated version. Hope it helps! Mine is still running great with no voltage spikes. Stays around 14v.

That makes it simple! - Appreciate the video. So I guess you do not need to program/re-program that module? I saw a video on the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that one had to have the module programed to the vin. I have a 2003 that I think the ABS module may need to be changed (Or BLED) as I think the PO did some brake work. I have a mushy pedal, even after changing all calipers, rotors and pads. I also changed the Master Cylinder, and installed after a careful bench bleed. I have brakes, but still mushy, and too much pedal travel. When I depress the pedal while driving, it sounds like the ABS is engaging. You can hear that rapid piston rattle sound, reminiscent of ABS engaging under the hood. I am guessing its just a bleed...

Yep my thoughts are to bend the connector to the size wher it can slide off and place the new one on. Flatten out the connector to original shape. Or you can find at Napa the connector and uncrimp the old one without cutting! The cable and placing the new connector on it
@alansunday
@alansunday 5 ай бұрын
Yes that was my thought by just looking at it. The factory crimping was soo tight though. I couldn't get anything in it to pry the crimp open. It was just that tight. And trying to bend it wasn't easy either without it being in a vice. Plyers, channel locks, nothing could bend it free handed. But, the dremel tool worked well and still had enough area to connect on the battery.

Carefully cut off that plastic ring with cut off disc.Remove that metal ring. You can put that hose on it like a regular hose.Use a stock spring clamp and add another worm style hose clamp to it for extra security.. 7 years and haven't had a problem with it coming off or leaking...

There was a TSB about the PF48E and switching to the UPF48R (PF48 has same internals) to rectify low oil pressure symptoms that cause the P5201 code of low oil pressure. I believe the PF48 and the UPF48R is the same internals but just a thicker shell/higher burst pressure on the R version for the corvette. Something to note. Have been looking into this the last day or so and doing some reading, was hoping you would look at the pressure relief valve at the bottom a little more in detail. I think the spring rate may be different, I did notice the PF48 that you showed....the shape of the metal around the spring was slightly different from the E version but could be wrong. It may just be the spring rate.

Good information. Especially about the drain plug on the block to get the rest of the coolant out. Wouldn’t be too good if coolant made its way into the oil.

As of today, August 16, 2023, the ac is still working great. This makes me think that being low on PAG oil will eventually make it over pressurize. Did not replace the compressor and just added 5oz of PAG oil and she's doing great so far 10 days later.

I want to add that before I changed the fuel injector and after I performed a smoke test, I unplugged #7 and #8 fuel injectors, cranked it up, misfiring terribly, hooked number 7 injector back up and it smoothed out a little, hooked number 8 fuel injector back up and no change. That tole me along with a buddy of mine telling me it could be the injector and this test pointed me in the direction of the number 8 fuel injector.
