I like the idea, nice work! Question: I know not to screw or penetrate a fastener on the tub But why not in the area where the 1/4 round is? Look at the area where you installed the 1/4 round. There's a cavity between the outer area of the tub where the 1/4 round is and inner tub where water sits. If drilled into the outer area at 1/2" it shouldn't penetrate to the inner tub. Thoughts?

Guess it's never too late to learn....at 76, having only minimal tools (and money) and even less experience with any kind of construction, I find myself having to repair water damage in my "new" 45 yo mobile home. Thank you and bless you for this excellent video. The contractor I hired to repair things for me did the absolute minimum and I'll be darned if I'll pay another one to take advantage of me!

I like your videos and watched a lot of them before I tackled my one and only (ever) laying of VCT tiles in my kitchen, and then putting on the cove base. I tiled and applied cove around a lot of metal late 40s kitchen cabinets and there are no videos for this scenerio or the challenges I faced. Luckily, the cove base covered most of my goofs around the perimiter of the room and also on the plus side, I was pretty confident with both the inside and outside cove corners thanks to videos like this one :) If you ever have the opportinuty to video a situation like mine, I would enjoy seeing it. Never know, there may be another like it in my future.

I think the runner I bought is a bit thinner than the normal carpet. My tack strips are poking out. I only did first 2 steps and was able to remove the top strips at bottom of first 2 risers. Can I hammer the pins down to avoid getting pricked? I think I might damage the carpet and stairs if I try and remove them now I doubt I can utilize the tack strips for the remaining stairs. Any suggestions would greatly help Thanks

Great video. However, I may not be able to use 18 gauge 1/4" crown staples. I'm prepping my floor for luxury vinyl plank and I need to build up an existing floor (3/4" subfloor and a 3/8" plywood over top of that) to my hardwood floor with 3/8" plywood. So I will have a situation with a 3/4" subfloor and two 3/8" plywood on top. I would think I would want to fasten the new 3/8" plywood layer through to the subfloor so I would need a 1 1/4" fastener. Would I need to get a stapler that would dispense 1/2" crown 1 1/4" staples? Or would floor screws be better? Or would the 18 gauge staples be strong enough? Thanks.

Finally an answer that makes sense to me as my question for watching this video and many was about the set up time for adhesive. I've been confused other people give between x and x time to work with it. But obviously everyone's floors are going to be of different absorbancy levels then there is humidity so those are all variables. Thanks to this video I get the best understanding of dryness/tackiness and what that will mean to adhesion. I am more confident now. 😊

Don’t have that melting machine . Wonder if A layer of parchment paper on floor and generous layer of Pl underneath the boards would be good enough to hold pcs. together , don’t walk on it for a day? ( the parchment paper would keep it a floating floor)
