Set up a trailer treble hook in the tail of that tube, many ways you can do it and you’re hookup rate will go up. Especially with reaction striking like this.
@differentfins14 сағат бұрын
I've got some new tubes from Drop Tine Tackle called Hunger Strike tubes. They have a longer single hook and a treble under the jig. Going to give this a go next time, I have used the stinger hook in the past like you said but these tubes I bought should get the job done. Cheers

Haha most days is a good mix of jumbo perch and splake but this day was a solid east wind and I think the perch were just shut off.... trout obviously don't care about the weather, they were hungry!

Stop reeling against your drag it twists the sh!t out of your line
@differentfins3 күн бұрын
In most situations I would agree with you but: 1. I am fishing in 4 feet of water, line twist isn't an issue. 2. Most of these fights are less than a few seconds, pulling drag is rare. 3. If the drag was any tighter the tiny hooks will just pop out, but if I waited until it was done running, it would have wrapped around several boulders and break off. This isn't big water fishing, rules do not apply to every situation.
@Cipher-Outdoors21 сағат бұрын
@ Keep up the repetition like you should catching them and you’ll end up with the same result partner. Good try tho. Had the same smooth brain thought while fishing burbot during spawn in about 8 feet of water. Had the line snap on what probably would have been my pb. All cause I was too lazy to tighten my drag.

Thanks! Bass were introduced here decades ago and now our lakes are absolutely polluted with them. I used to catch bigger ones more often, these days it's nothing to catch 100+ bass in a day but the size seems smaller. I think overpopulation stunted their growth. I'll be camping in this area again in May... can't wait! Cheers!

Unfortunately, where I live the government makes us throw them back so they die… It’s unfortunate and I hate putting them back, but I would prefer to keep all my fishing gear and not get a fine
@differentfins11 күн бұрын
Not all laws are justified. Of course keeping a fish caught that won't survive is the most ethical option. On the other hand, laws are in place because there are people who ruin a good thing. We know, even if there was a stipulation saying mortally wounded fish should be kept, that some poachers would keep all their big fish and simply lie and say it was mortally wounded if stopped by a game warden. Dumb laws are in place because we have to live with bad apples.
