Oh, dude, so cool those spots quick and easy!! That's awesome

I have a few closer lakes, the one with the pike is a little over 5km each way. So it's walking distance but ya got to budget some time to do it lol

Love hearing that drag rip!

Best sound ever! Even if it's on an old reel. I love that little rod... I should get a new reel for it though. Caught so many nice fish on it and it fits in a backpack!
@crystalblier10236 ай бұрын
@differentfins sweet! Get a new reel and then you can do "first fish on the new reel" 😁 Always fun!

Thank you Larry. I would have been happy with the other fish I caught but it's always uplifting when a big girl shows up. Cheers!

I was pleased for sure. How are things with you? Wet any lines down there yet?
@HookinDinks6 ай бұрын
@@differentfins nothing yet. Hoping to get out this week I see fish are biting. Only thing that sucks is for the next couple weeks panfish and trout are the only fish in season and we don’t have any trout spots around me… Ill be trying for crappie/bluegill soon.

I think I remember the dog story you referred to, yeah, that was messy 😮
@differentfins6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I forget who's dog it was. A black one I think. We were fishing off that point at Lincoln. We must have been about 8 or ten years old then eh? Don't forget something like that!

Good to see ya back. We’re gonna be on lac seul first week of June. I’m up there off and on, all summer. (Friend of nc outdoors)

Ah sweet. It's so awesome up there. I've been watching Nick fishing down south when he does get out. Miss him up here, he was so much fun to fish with.

Good kid. We fished together a lot that summer. Hope to see him back north in the future. Keep up the great vids and maybe we will cross paths sometime!

first ice out use to be around may 15 in chapleau. now it comes sooner. when the water is cold i drift a smelt. sometimes with a bobber, sometimes without. i use a mouth spreader. doesn't the dog have a name. i have told you before i like your videos.

The dogs name is Apollo. Last spring the winter was mild but the ice did stay around for quite a long time. I think March was colder than February last winter. It was weird. Thanks again for watching!

I would not want to unhook a dog. I actually went out for pike yesterday. Had four or five hits and couldn't sink a hook in one. Those were beauties.
@differentfins6 ай бұрын
Ah nuts, that's too bad. I hope you get another shot. Yeah it was a bad memory. Fishing from shore, we were probably like 8 years old. Well a dog decided to bite one of the jerk baits in the tackle box. It got the hook in his jaw, then naturally swiped at it to remove the lure but of course the paw got snagged.... we built a makeshift stretcher to carry him home and had an adult pull the hooks. Wasn't fun at all. Dogs get excited but just like people that's when dumb mistakes happen. I get nervous when I am ice fishing with him too. Always have the blades covered. I can see him licking the slush off and slicing his tongue.

What state are you in?
@differentfins5 ай бұрын
Ontario 😉
@jonasmartin6785 ай бұрын
@@differentfins must be northern Ontario I guess eh? To be able to walk to numerous lakes for big pike
@differentfins5 ай бұрын
@jonasmartin678 NW Ontario yeah. We literally have more lakes than people. Minnesota is the state of 10,000 lakes but looking on a map it appears to be a desert compared to this side of the border. Water everywhere!
