John passed away aged 45 in 1995 and Joey aged 48 in 2000. Absolute legends, the pair. Needless to say John's bikes were stunning 💙🩷 💛

I like the Britten bike. Do not forget that JD won most of his races on small bikes. His nephew Michael, John McGuinness et al. are on a higher level.

New Brighton at it's best. Those were days of freedom where communities were allowed to run events that brought people together. Joey and John, simply magical with a truely iconic kiwi machine.

Greatest road racer - ever. The most unasuming man you could ever meet. The things he did outwith bike racing is just as impressive. Driving alone from N Ireland to Romania, alone, in winter, eating frozen beans out of a can, so he could deliver parcels to nuns at an orphanage. No fanfare, no publicity, just a need and will to do it.

I got the same T shirt off John Britten, at the TT in the early 90's. I also bought a very nice Britten enamel badge! I treasure both items as they are irreplaceable.

Vety sad that when Britten died his bike was no more too, that bike should have been developed into a special racing team in reverence to a great designer/man, well ahead of his time, they've all caught up now, but imagine how much further they could be if Britten had the factory backing.

With the detail mods that Bob did, it is no more an Enfield. With such apprenticeship done, it would had been better for Bob to make himself a new brand of motorcycle all together !
