Hello! I had a couple of questions. 1) Is the afterburner just near the exhaust of the turbine or is it welded onto the exhaust of the turbine? 2) Are you using a spark plug or flame holder in your afterburner or are you just injecting fuel? Great video! Thank you!

@@clintontrex im all new to this but any info /parts info you could give me would be very much appreciated im building a little project for and just looking for afterburner more for the look...i eant it to operate and all but not to worried about achieving the most thrust I can get out of it just looking to be able to fire jet up and be able to do a few burner pops...my next project will be mor serious but for now just looking for the cool factor im building a bicycle with a jet on it and would be cool if I can figure out how to make a afterburner I can do alk the welding and fab work im just not sure on a fuel nozzle and how to operate a fuel supply and shutoff valve to be able to do short burst of fuel for a burner pop

CLINTONTREX I just purchased a similar jet engine and I am very serious about building an afterburner would you be willing to share your specs on yours or would you be interested in building an Identical one as yours and sell it to me?

It's really cool. What is the engine thrust and what is the thrust when the afterburner is running?
@punman53923 жыл бұрын
You need to vary the nozzle diameter when you light the burner. You want to see nice clean shock diamonds, not a big blow torch

Are you running this turbojet off of a liquid fuel or something gaseous like propane? What about the afterburner, liquid fuel or propane?
@fuzzybobbles3 жыл бұрын
Propane gas to start it, once it's running and warmed up then kerosene or aviation fuel is used. Afterburner uses the same fuel as the engine.

The fuse is gunna need some wicked heat shielding to survive those AB casing temps! Is that Inconel? The temps are fierce. Have you measured the thrust increase with the AB attached?

I know this is an old video but, you really need to expand that nozzle or you are going to damage that turbine. Also, compressed air injection cowling to keep those exterior temps down?

Hello guys, nice videos about your afterburner. I'm doing a similar thing in my study. My problem is the ignition. Can you tell me how you ignite the injected kerosene? It would be best, if you can contact me as soon as possible on [email protected] Thanks! Greetings from Germany
