When I visited NYC we did get into an unmarked black suv at the airport to get to our airbnb. It was super clean and they offered free Fiji water and took us where we wanted for cheap lol it worked but I wouldn’t do that again if I were alone. I was with family that time

Honestly this is blowing my mind. I currently pay 1350 for a large studio in dallas, and the fact that I can get a studio in NYC for only 300 more is 🤯. I thought I’d have to have roommates if I want a place for 1700

Im in Canada and if you are spending a $1000USD a week + your fixed expenses..thats $9000CAD a month! Your fixed expense is my mortgage for 2 bed/2bed penthouse. lol None of that looks fun. Yes you live in NY but it doesnt seem like you are doing much since you even said you are 'homebody'.

Loved this video!! You’re one of the most realistic NY creators I watch. I feel that living in NYC isn’t the easiest place to save up, there’s so many things to do and way too many opportunities to spend money. But I truly enjoy this city and I feel it’s worth it. Also I think earning potential is higher here! My friends and coworkers move up the pay scale quicker than I see in other cities.

Standard wedding gift is supposed to be at least the average cost of one’s attendance plus an amount for the bride and groom. The average banquet hall wedding is $100 per person in attendance, and when I went I doubled that amount but one does not necessarily have to. This is what people have done as far as I am aware. It is unfair but in my culture anything less will be considered rude.

I'm afraid the cost of living in New York will increase even more. America refuses cheap Chinese goods and does not produce anything itself because labor is very expensive. In the USA, it prints unsupported money and issues it to other countries to avoid inflation. Now there is a global trend to partially abandon the American dollar. The USA understands where the trend is going, so they are trying to block tiktok.

I feel like over in the US you have this tipping culture so you tend to pretty much tip for every small thing that you buy. Over here in the UK we're not really obliged to tip unless we ourselves really want to. I don't really tip unless I thought the customer service was worth tipping. When it comes to weddings I would say if you were to go by yourself gifting around £50 seems fair, it depends how well ik the couple who are getting married.

I'm not sure if you covered it already, but would you be able to go over work opportunities in the Burroughs. To clarify: are there large commonplace employers that many in the area are employed by? For example, where I live many work for the steel industry. Its plentiful, being 3 mills in total. Would something like that be the Port Authority there in New York?
