I just don't understand the phrase this is not a watch you wear day in day out? And why is that exactly?

Hi Steve great video and I share your opinion on the SBGN013, I want to make the purchase but am worried about the fit as my 7.5inch wrist, I usually wear a 40mm but this GS watch has a slight cushion case making the sapphire smaller? They do a 42mm Automatic GS was the other Grand Seiko you briefly showed in the video a 42mm? how do they compare in the metal?

I own a Marvelight which imho is the best alternative to a Rolex date just. Same steel, same look, solid build. I just picked up this one in the blue and black bezel, and im waiting for it to arrive.

Gorgeous watch mate. I've been looking at this in the pilot how you finding the lug to lug now you've had it a while still happy out? I've skinny wrists think this will be a good buy maybe on a strap looking at the pepsi dial.

I love it. I almost went with this one recently although I purchased the SBGN019. That model is no longer offered in the US. Always wear a watch ‘below’ the ulna wrist bone (not above).

Michel Herbelin is such an underrated brand, had a Cap Camarat, the quality for the price is top tier.

Lol should have asked about the odyssey, by far one of their best watches, unfortunately don't think they're allowed to make it anymore owing to AP and PP

Very nice watch, besides unboxing and showing it around it would have been nice to show how it works, is it a true GMT? Show how the crown and pushers work. I believe from what I saw that the bezel lum outshines the dial lum.

Hi Steve. I am considering buying a GS 9f quartz watch and specifically the GMT SBGN013 or the SBGP003, with the 44GS design and the slightly more "luxury" bracelet. As an watch expert, what would you advise me?

Thoughts? Considering this watch but looks to be too much lug to lug for a 6.5” wrist
@thechameleon7710 ай бұрын
Did you end up getting one? I'm in the same boat. Have 6 3/8" wrist. Seems like most videos people have a bigger wrist and don't comment on if it would be good or not for poeple with skinnier wrist.

I paid little bit over the odds for my brand new SARB017 because I detest see through case back and that massive X upon the dial os the newer models that you have there.. I paid £769 for my SARB017 the only alpinist I put over it is THE LAUREL ALPINIST SCVF009 4S15-6000..... Which is a high beat red alpinist green dial mag lens on date solid case back... 💯

There is something odd going on with tick marks- this watch has 5 of them between hour indices, makes 72 minutes per hour :), Vanguard has 3 tick marks which makes 48 minute hour, Vanguard II has 4 tick marks, which is right, Marine Pilot has 5 between hour marks. Unfortunately Ball has sometimes forgot funcion over design. Damn, I was considering Marine GMT but now I cannot unsee this oddity. :(
@michaelansberry87052 жыл бұрын
This stuck out to me as well and initially ruined the watch, however, I think this was intentional because it's not a minute track. The ticks on the rehaut are separated by hour marks from 02-24, not minute. With having this many ticks, you can break down each hour into 20-minute sections for the GMT hand (24 hours with 72 marks = 20 minute sections).
@danwolfe76652 жыл бұрын
Yes! I find it really confusing why Ball. Chose to do that with the tick marks. When I glance at my watch I want to know what minute it is as fast as possible. Not have to study it for 10 to 20 seconds to try and figure out what’s going on.

QUESTION: the day and date changes with the hour marker or with the gmt marker when both are at different time?

This is an older model which must be sent back to the factory for a battery change. The newer ones have a battery hatch compartment which is isolated from the oil; you can easily change the battery by yourself.

I can't justify spending over $700 for a Seiko Alpinist. That is not a $700 watch. Sure, it's a good little watch. No doubt about it. What a great looking watch too. But, I'm not dishing out more than $499 for that watch. Not happening.
