Considering what the knicks gave, alot cheaper than what the warriors would have given to the jazz for Markkanen, which essentially fills the same shoes for the Warriors 😂. DiVencenzo, Randle and only gave 1 pick, and it might not even be an actual 1st round because its heavily protected. Meanwhile, jazz wanted like 4+ first round picks and young talent for their 7 foot Sniper. Knicks won that trade though. Idk what Twolves are doing... Guess they're hoping Naz Reid fills the same shoes as Kat with starter minutes? And theyll have to convince Randle to come off the bench 😂

We all love Mo Moo, can we all be wrong and Kerr is the lonely island of right? I’m thinking no. Look back at why he “discovered” the young talent that now get time. TJD- he was forced on him when Draymond was out and (can’t quite remember but . . .) I believe Looney and Saric were in foul trouble. JK went public, and BP was, well young, but forced his hand when Klay imploded. I think Moody is too loyal to Kerr. Make noise, fight for it and be an outsider.

Youre comparing Moody to players who play on teams that have either never won a championship, are not in a hurry to win a championship or just bad and young. None of those teams have superstar players either (specifically over 30) which comes with its own dynamics and short term expectations. I love Moody but your take here lacks context and so is misleading
@MrSweatLeisure
@MrSweatLeisure Күн бұрын
That's not an excuse. Kerr was playing two-way players like Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb ahead of JK and Moody. Outside of the 2022 Championship Season, GS has played .500 ball and either missed the playoffs or got bounced in the play-in. Either play them two or trade them. Instead Kerr plays favorites and it's not even favorites based on play, which makes it worse.

I think everyone understands that the context of the Warriors means Moses wouldn't have played anywhere near as much as others. However, 28th is still ridiculously low even accounting for the context. Take Zaire Williams for example -- got some minutes on a good Memphis team in his first couple of seasons (not in his third). Turns out he's no good and the Grizzlies bit the bullet and moved on. The Warriors (and fans) are still trying to work out how good Moses is because of the lack of playing time.
@MatChabane-n8d

@@GoldenStatewithMateswith that said, is this a valid comparison if it needs so many caveats? @MatChabane-n8d
@MatChabane-n8d 23 сағат бұрын
@@MrSweatLeisureexcuse for what? You're missing my point completely. I'm not arguing that Moody doesn't deserve more playing time. I'm arguing the comparisons make no sense because playing time is related to roster construction (ie contender or aspiring contender or rebuild) and status of the organizations (ie small market or developmental stage (youth) etc.) I mean the Washington Wizards were mentioned as a comparison - howz that a reasonable comparison
@MrSweatLeisure
@MrSweatLeisure 21 сағат бұрын
@MatChabane-n8d I agree with you; my only opposing opinion is GS drafted JK at 7 and Moody at 14 instead of using one or both of those picks to deal for a proven vet. At that point, they should've allowed those two to develop more on the court because the roster was heavy tilted towards an aging super star core and a core full of guys on rookie deals, with very few, if any middle-tier players. GS management and coaching staff is at fault saying how they were operating on two timeliness while not ginuinely giving the young core opportunities to develop. Remember, outside of 2022, GS wasn't/hasn't been a championship contender, they were barely a playoff contender over the past five seasons. Kerr literally invested more into Jerome and Lamb (2way players whom they weren't even gonna retain) than they did Moody and JK.

I sometimes wonder if Moses' likeability clous people's minds on him. I really like Moses for multiple reasons, but there are several things he just doesn't do (that I'm convince they've tried to get him to do) and I certainly wasn't going to give him Klay's minutes often. I've never seen Moses moving with the ball and running his defender into a screen for an open 3 and he shoots well enough that he should be able to make that. He cuts to the basket without the ball but can't attack the basket with it (at best he has a decent snatch back or step back or long middy). He has some trouble guarding 3's (especially larger 3's) an he's not good guarding quick 1's. Really, His best trait is that fabulous hustle, good team defense and shockingly good shooting while col off the bench. He needs to develop more than hustle play, cuts, rebound put backs and spot up 3's.

I should give Moses credit for improving his vertical last season because he was pretty famous for poor athleticism, when he was drafted I said that he was the shortest 6' 6" guy Ive ever seen. I guarantee that most fans will remember last season when he got a rebound and jump straight up and dunked it.... I cheered too, It was shocking because none of us thought he could do it. Just to say, development takes time and win now teams dont always give this time with all stars playing the same position.

Podz has better handles, he's a better passer, shoot and rebounder. Not only that, they basically had the same def rtg with Podz facing off against more front end rotational players. The warriors need a coach. Picture what Moody and Kuminga would be if Kerr gave them Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb’s minutes in the 22-23 season. Wiggins is a natural 2 guard. Picture a coach that knows how to get the best out of a players natural talents and strengths instead of trying to squeeze them into his system. 2015 was Mark Jackson’s team. 2017 and 18 anybody’s Grandma could have coached those championships. Kerr gets credit for 2021-22 championship. That’s it. He didn’t know how to manage last years talent. Just as the Olympic talent that sat on the bench. This year he has more talent that last year. He’s gonna try to fit them into his little system and it won’t work. He doesn’t know how to use the talent he has. And in the process he has screwed up Moody and probably Kuminga’s potential. They have fallen in love with Podz and he’s decent, but he’s not all that. Wiggins at the 2 and Podz off the bench for Curry. Think about it. If Dray didn’t get suspended, TDJ would have NEVER gotten a real opportunity last season. Kuminga had to talk to ownership to get real playing time last year. Now where oh where is Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb? POOR DECISIONS. Kerr is the problem. Loyalty doesn’t win you championships. He’s gotta go. What more proof do you need? Maybe Stackhouse can influence Kerr because he has no clue or he has another agenda. Right now Wiggins, Melton and Moody would be better at the 2 guard then Podz. Stop forcing that hype. Podz will have his day. Imagine if Moody and Kuminga got that kind of love in 22-23. I’m a big fan since Mark Jackson days. Kerr is gonna force me to stop watching this circus of his. Imagine if Moody had Podz’s minutes last year. Suddenly last year Kerr starts loving a rookie. Well not TDJ, until Kerr got desperate when Dray was suspended. I’m done. Rant over. We need a coach not a dude with a system.

If Buddy can be a guy that scores 15 to 20 a game and we can have a couple of other guy's poppin off like that that will be huge for this team. I understand the defense thing but as long as he's playing fundamental defense and scoring 15 to 20 a game he will see minutes.
