Hello all, I hope that I can get some help. When I try to take the top bolt off of the stud, the rubber mount turns with it. I only turn it a bit because I don’t want to break anything. But if I tighten it back, it tightens and won’t spin. I think the nut, stud, and rubber are moving together. What can I do?

This was a great video but one thing I did not follow was that: if you disconnect the front hose at the power steering reservoir the reservoir is going to drain out? But then you said to keep the keep the reservoir full as you're working the fluid out of the rack and pinion. Do you have to plug the reservoir with something first - I assume? And at no time is the car ignition on? It's always off while turning the wheels back and forth? (turn the key once to unlock the wheel.)

I recommend basting the fluid out first and then removing the lines so you don’t make a huge mess. You also forgot the part where you put new fluid in. You also gotta bleed it after you fill with the engine off, you turn the wheel back and forth until it stops bubbling in the reservoir.

I checked my 2010 owner's manual. It is just PSF, not S-PSF. It is in section 9-2.
@daboogster76393 жыл бұрын
The e-PSF is only for the newer electric PS pump designs. The owners manual has a table near the back that discusses all the vehicle’s fluids. It also may give you alternatives to the Nissan PSF. Dexron ATF VI is an option to use on my Nissan 2009 Murano, same design as this.

Just a minor one.
@ryanwilliams76003 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, that's what a lot of shops/dealerships consider a tune-up and charge a crazy amount of money. Another reason I'm a fan of DIY. Spark plugs, PCV valve, air filter, cabin air filter, and ignition coils, if needed can all be bought for $100 or less. Shop on Amazon or use coupon codes from Advance Auto or Auto Zone etc. and you're winning. The spark plug socket I bought off Amazon for cheap as well.

How do you plug the power steering reservoir once the hose is disconnected, so it doesnt leak fresh fluid.
@12MRJERSEY4 жыл бұрын
You don't, you clamp the return line then drain then reservoir. Next, run your return line into whatever container of your choosing then unclamp it. And the rest is self explanatory.
