You covered this a lot better than most videos I've seen. You may know something I don't, but last time I checked specs, SPOT transmits at only 0.4 watts, versus 1.6 for the InReach and 5.0 watts for the ACR PLB. If Spot has upgraded their signal strength is must be on the version after Spot Gen3.

What is the size of the front lens of your scope? I wonder if I should get the low or medium version of the mounts for Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x 42mm, also mounting on Franchi momentum Elite. Or I may be hitting the scope with the bolt lever If I go with the low?
@valhallaoutfitter
@valhallaoutfitter 3 күн бұрын
The bolt throw on the momentum elite is 60 deg, so should not interfere with the scope. The scope in this video is a 3-18x 50. At the 3:06 mark I discuss how close I am to a 1/4 inch off the barrel. So, the difference between you 42 and my 50 is 8mm. 4 go up and 4 go down off center, so you have 4 extra mm than I do. A 1/4 inch is 6.35MM. 6.35+4= 7.35mm which is about the distance you would have to the barrel using the rings in this video; you can get lower rings. Hope this helps! I would get "low" and the make a "super low" for some set=ups that I would also consider, but low should work.

That’s a really good question and that’s just where I had to put it for my eye relief. Even when I went down to the leupold VX 3 HD I noticed the same thing, and I think it is the norm given the fact that they make the hammer extender so you can reach the hammer from the side of a scope. Don’t have to worry about it anymore; I moved back to Skinner peep sights to take it back to basics

What was the torque setting for the bases mate
@valhallaoutfitter
@valhallaoutfitter 19 күн бұрын
17-20 in/lb on ring screws. Talley doesn't publish a number for the bases, I set my torque wrench around 23. You can call them, they are great about picking up. I think they told me to turn the bases screws until the supplied allen wrench flexes a little bit. Not very scientific, I know. It is possible (and not too hard) to strip these, so be careful or you will be ordering literally one screw from Talley.... ask me how I know.

The movement leaves something to be desired; this 24 jewel 6R35 seems almost universally hated. Only running at 21.6 beats/hr improves power reserve to 70 hrs but I would much rather have precision over accuracy... +25 to -15 PER DAY while the NH35 is rated worse, mine run better in practice. However, if I want accuracy I reach for my Seamaster 300... though I must say the planet ocean was within 2 sec a day and this Heritage lollipop is right on the bubble of METAS depending on position.

Purchased one of these guns about 3-4 years ago, I use it for Clays and Skeet. Think I paid 1050 at the time. My wood is darker than the one in this videoe. Very pleased with the way it shoots. Two things to note. It has an auto safety. The colored Case Hardening finish will wear off the gun from handling. I always carry it by holding the forearm now when opened Also I don't care for the orange case it came in.

in 2016 ish I had a pair of Danner 25025 boots just like these When I lived in Utah. with triangular shaped vent on side. These have a wavy vent shape. They were comfortable but I think I tossed them out when I moved like an idiot. I don't know why. buy I bought the hot weather version and the sole wore down on the back heal edge so I should have just had them recrafted with a sole thats better for cold weather on the east coast. I'm looking into buying these since those are discontinued and these ones are almost identical. They were comfortable and super tough. I usually wear logging boots for work and all day/everyday but I have a pair of Danner Fort Lewis boots I love. They need to be recrafted. I'de love a pair of these Mebs to complete my collection. The bolts stick out 1 cm off the rail so aren't too obtrusive. If you can remove the nut entirely, I would think you can reverse the pins (both sides of the mounting rail look the same). This may be manufacturer dependent, so I would check with the manufacturer of whatever brand you are considering.

But at 25m I was still shooting high - quite high actually. Once you see that little screw it plain as day, but it took me a while to notice it. In my case, I wanted to use skinner peep sights and the gun was way way high. In addition, with max adjustment on the buckhorn I was way high. I switched out the front blade to a .75 inch version and was able to group on bull with the buckhorn. Gun is at Henry right now, I suspect the barrel alignment is out by a couple degrees. Will see what they say when they send it back.

Purchased this same model to shoot sporting clays. Impressive quality for $1300…durable receiver, excellent machining, tight fit and finish. At 62 yrs old, it is my 1st shotgun. Improved my skill level rapidly over the span of 500 rounds, to the point of it being very comfortable and easy (5’11, 210, with medium arm length & medium hands). My buddies all have Brownings and Berettas which are great, but this works very well for me. I’ve been anxious to upgrade, however, I’m a practical type so decided to run with it for time being. Don’t fix what ain’t broke, as they say. Certainly nothing to be ashamed of among Citoris, Silver Pigeons, et al. Matter of fact, my friend’s son purchased one a week after shooting mine. Probably won’t run more than 1k rounds per yr, so doubtful I wear it out. ✌️

Just received my lupo. First time handling the gun. I’m mildly disappointed with how chincy the coating on the metal is as well as the plastic of the stock. Seems less quality than the tikkas and brownings. I share your feelings about the bolt. The design of this gun is impressive however. The level at which this rifle can easily be stripped makes this gun a breeze to very thoroughly clean. I’m hoping this gun shoots as well as others claim they do. Also hoping it ends up being more durable than it feels. I might have the steel done in cerekote to add a little protection. Jury is out until I get a chance to put it through the wringer.

All good points. The coating is a little puny; I even thought about switching to the "b.e.s.t." model because of it (I already scratched it and the stainless is reluctant to take cold blue), but this is a field gun and I don't know if I can justify the cost. The stock has grown on me, though for lightweight/feel combo my x-bolt pro is better. That being said, mine is a real tack driver and I have zero complaints in the accuracy department.
