so earlier i tried to video (its also nighttime btw) in manual mode with std film simulation and dr at 400 image quality is raw.. raw recording is lossless compressed.. now when shooting footage the footage was clear i can see everything the image is great and didnt event use a full gb of memory when recording for about a minute.. then i switched to custom c1 which is setup in flog 2.. however the image was very dark even after turning the aperture down from 2.0 to 1.4 it still dark and image quality quite grainy but even worse it used 3.6 gb after just 13 seconds of recording ( but could have something to do with it recording in pro res 422 as my vfx editor says it works best for him) i would like to hear peoples opinion i can even send the video.. what can you recomend as you know i am trying to film at night so trying to get good image in flog 2 while trying to save memory as im supposed to be shooting my own musiv video tomorrow night.. any info hmu asap

I'm not ready to commit to a 200 dollar backpack. If I'm not taking huge lenses then I'm okay with a regular backpack. When I take my MFT camera I've been able to fit 2 lenses in a fanny pack that I got for 20 bucks at TJ Max.

I prefer to carry a jacket with plenty of pockets, putting my lenses in different areas and my supporting batteries and other knickknacks in. You can buy these type of jackets for every type of season, which is what I prefer to do. This way you can pull out lenses easily and swap them out. Nobody sees you with the backpack and they don’t see you as a photographer, but just somebody carrying a camera around his neck. Thieves, don’t see you either! You will have to find a jacket that suits you, you can even have somebody custom make extra pockets. I see way too many photographers carrying backpacks and they’re less likely to get the lens out quickly or even at all. 🖖

Do people still have the AF issue? I've been using my X-M5 for a month and it's been so great. The focus is so much better than the cameras I had (Pentax K20D, Canon EOS 5D mark IV). I was wondering whether they fixed this in this newer (but entry-level) model?

Well they better have fixed it in time for the xm5 launch. People including myself has criticized their af for almost a year now. But to answer your question, yes af will continue to be an issue.

One of my all time favourite trio of lenses are Pentax's FA 31/1.8, FA43/1.9 and FA77/1.8 (all AF glass for FF). These lenses are works of art, you should go google them to even just get an idea of size and what they look like. Pentax were way ahead back in the day and making some gorgeous rendering glass. So yeh, 75/2 is a nice FL and f stop, all in a decent compact package, I know that deal well.

I don't shoot my 90/f2 often, but I'm experienced enough to recognize I should NEVER sell it. The new 16-55 ii is a fantastic lens - sooooo much lighter than the original and focus seems to be snappier too. Honorable mention should go to the Sony 24-50 f/2.8 lens - it's perfect for the A7C line.

What are your thoughts on the tamron 20-40mm?
@RandumbTech3 күн бұрын
@@Iamtongue I tried it out at my local camera store and wasn't really impressed. Lack of aperture ring is a deal breaker for me personally. Stabilization isn't nearly as good either for 3rd party lenses on Sony bodies. I don't think it's a bad lens, but the 24-50 is worth the extra $$ to me.

I’m a digital artist by trade, and I edit images all the time. I only shoot raw if the lighting condition calls for it; otherwise I prefer to shoot jpegs (you can really get a lot from 8 or 10 bit files if you know what you need prior to taking the image). Personally I prefer more neutral, natural images out of the camera to work with, so I prefer Sony.

Viltrox 27 mm F 1.2 totally underrated one of my favorite lenses felt a little tight at first because I was trying to shoot it like a 23mm also felt a little wide if I tried to completely isolate subjects like a 33 mm. But now after having it for a moment I've adjusted and now it suits me like having two prime lenses it's Ultra sharp it works great in low light yes it's a little heavy it's not a pancake lens I use it with excess 20 and the fact that I have a grip makes it very usable. It honestly reminds me of shooting on full frame

The Fuji 18 1.4 is one I don’t plan on selling. It’s a perfect street photography lens and I’ve noticed I don’t miss the 2mm more on a 16 mm. I’ve gotten some good compliments on my photos with this lens. As far as the 90 mm F2 goes, I don’t plan on selling this either. It’s great for street photography and for hiking when I want to carry a telephone photo. You can always crop with this lens, especially now that you have a 40 megapixels on Fuji cameras. When you talk about a 33 or 35 F1.0 I don’t see the need for it as the 33 1.4 is fantastic! I use this lenses a street photography lens all the time. I went on B&H photo, and reviewsthey say that the new replacement of the 16-55 2.8 is soft at wide open? I’m not sure if this is accurate, so I’m waiting to hear more reviews from real photographers, not just the pro’s trying to sell it. Otherwise, I’m fine keeping the original version, as it doesn’t make much much difference on quality, just size.
@ijovy33 күн бұрын
i always like to get native glass first since there is usually better performance when it comes to things like minimum focusing distance or high contrast situations. but those 3rd party lenses are coming in hot - near native performance for little compromise

XF 27 or 33mm f1.0 with capable AF would be amazing for night street photography. People often say that FF is better suited for this, but if Fuji ticks all of the other boxes for me already, I really don't want to pick up 2nd system just for that reason.

@@josephdu1952 Indeed! Laowa 33mm f0.95 with AF and WR would be a killer. While I understand that it is not an easy feat to manufacture such glass, for night photography (and arguably portraits - for some of us), clinical sharpness like XF 18mm f1.4 is not even that much desired, as ISO is already quite high - especially with moving subjects.
