That’s great going. These engines are commercial designed engines for vans and higher mileage. Unlike the modern variants which are a car derived engine

If you wanted this layout I’d recommend you had a LWB van. That way you’d have a bed that was over 6ft in length. They end up with approximately 1900mm of usable space. The SWB van is always going to be a compromise of bed length vs how much the units protrude into the door opening.

@@Springer5 thanks for the kind words. Yes we live forever hopeful that the weather will be kind enough so we can cook outside!! Always a risk in the uk!! But that said I have the same set up in my van and I have a small portable cooker which I can use inside for a brew first thing without having to go outside. If the weather is that bad normally I’ll go and find somewhere else to eat and let them do the cooking and washing up! The porta potti drawer is a game changer for those 3am wake up calls so you don’t need to trek across the campsite. 😃

@@balwantmahi8298 More than likely camshaft. Unlike a conventional cam these are only bolted on one side so the pressure causes uneven and premature wear to the cam lobes, rockers and buckets on the top of the valves. All this coupled with the fact they are quite noisy engines anyway because they are gear driven, not a chain or belt - which is much quieter. Have a look at darkside developments KZbin as they had a van in which was the noisiest they have every seen/heard

Not sure why you’re experiencing high background music. It isn’t that loud on any of our devices.

Thanks. Yes it has a leisure batter under drivers seat, next to the main battery. It also has mains power via hook up. As the owners don’t intend being ‘off grid’ much no inverter was necessary but you could easily fit one in the main cupboard to give you 240v. The bed is 1720mm but with its spacing gives about 1800mm of useable space.

On the front doors you could add some close foam on top of the sound deadening pads but that’s it. You can’t add too much as the window mechanism will get caught up and potentially jam. The rest of the van panels would indeed benefit from the three stage insulation but you need to be careful around the lock mechanisms and catches.

@@dcdtransporters I will try to do that operation on my T6.1. Hope it will not be to difficult to dismount the electrical window area from the door... Maybe I can find some information about it !
