As a housing support worker I just have to say how good your content is! You are showing folk the real side of homelessness and unsettled ways of life, doing it in a way that’s compassionate and down to earth. Any one of us could be sitting on the street, it only takes one event! Keep spreading the good word, it’s a good cause!

I was in Glasgow 2 weeks ago finishing up my honeymoon. Safe to say I won’t be going back that taxi driver was spot on when I was last back in Glasgow before COVID it was a whole different vibe, now I just don’t feel safe going out even during the day. Don’t get me wrong I feel for these people I truly do but Glasgow as a city has a lot of work to do to help the addicts and the crime rate in general

Margaret Thatcher created a legacy policy in the ‘right to buy’. Sadly the governments who came after didn’t build more social housing. The taxi driver is VERY misinformed. It was the councils who allowed their stock to decay to the point of demolition. It was the new housing association movement of the 1970’s when Dennistoun residents purchased the tenements on Thomson street & through grant funding redeveloped & modernised them, over time purchasing all the tenements earmarked for demolition on the south side of Duke street. And so Reidvale housing association came in to existence & many communities followed over the coming decades. Thanks to Mr John Butterly & his neighbours Mrs Jack & Co. Know your history.

Although I support all those on the Glasgow street's & individuals who support them. Sadly I agree with the taxi driver! I have visited this city many times , which is 1 hour from where I live and was shocked very recently by the change especially near the station. Destination not going to be on my shopping list for a long time.Grieves me to give a bad vibe.?.

Really struggled to understand during covid, even when you were allowed to walk about myself and partner went into Glasgow City every night with food and blankets could not find 1 homeless person! Which made me question how authentic these homeless actually are. I took one 3 years ago and gave her food and set up bank account, and offered her a job, dingied after doing all this. Very hard to help someone who doesn’t even want to help themselves. Cant blame the government they need to blame themselves and accept there was always a alternative route!
