After what i have learned going throigh bypass surgery. Personal experience and research while healing. I am astonished that the majority of surgeons still use sternal wires.

I thought having this disease was as a result of my old age, while I was diagnosed of heart disease Dec. 19 2020, I used series of medication but I was still having the severe pain, until I used an herbal mixture from Dr. Gbenga which I saw on KZbin and I was completely cured, I appreciate Dr. Gbenga for his help

You did my aortic valve repair and anueurysm graft over two years ago. The lidocaine patches definitely helped and I felt the difference when they were removed before I left the hospital. I have a high pain tolerance and felt the pain was tolerable during the day. The pain was most bothersome when I tried to sleep. The tramadol I was prescribed barely took the edge off to allow me to fall asleep. Not one to complain, I put my head down and got through it. I don’t like how opiates make me feel, but should have probably requested for bedtime use the first week home. Tramadol is a weak analgesic that is sub therapeutic for this type of pain. NSAIDS were probably more effective. I wouldn’t put much faith in gabapentin. As a retail pharmacist, I understand the risks of over prescribing opiates. As a open heart surgery patient, I think the benefit of a week of opiate treatment outweighs the risk. Dr Roselli and the entire Cleveland Clinic team that took care of me were fantastic! I’m truly blessed to have been a patient there.

Stainless steel wire as a closure device is 30 years old? Good gravy doc, when they cracked my Mom's chest in 1958 they used stainless steel wire to close the sternum. From a patient looking at a sternotomy in a few weeks, this is exciting stuff. Will definitely discuss the availability of plates as a closure device with my surgeon.
