Thanks for doing this, got 12.5.6.3 on my wife's new Model 3 Highland several days ago and have to say I am very impressed with the performance. Not perfect yet, but getting there! Haven't had a chance to take it on the highway yet, so appreciate your review.

You are still the best! The only other person I watch is Chuck Cook, and he sometimes gets too much in the weeds for me. So, you are where I go to actually learn something, and not just be entertained. Keep it up. I’m an 85 year old male living in Raleigh driving a 2020 model 3 with hardware 3. I believe that FSD is extending my mobility so much that I am willing to take longer trips and just go more places and still feel safe. So keep up the good work to help me keep up with what’s coming.

The toll thing is interesting on the Parkway or Turnpike... EZPass vs Full Service... in theory you should be able to preset it to say "I have a tag so choose EZPass" since they are ubiquitous.

Installed this version just before my drive from Fort Worth to the countryside south of Austin. Highway driving on interstate was much smoother. Merges and overall behavior were much better than the old highway stack. Where I saw the most marked improvement was two lane country roads with speed limit 50 to 60. It used to always go slow on these roads and last night it was about 2 mph over speed limit which was near perfect for the driving conditions. About 40 miles on those type of roads. We have road ridges in our median stripes. It did hit median stripes about 3 times on tight curves. That is the only gripe I could give it. That last 40 miles I usually just take over or constantly hit acceleration to push the car to acceptable speeds. None of that last night.

Looking forward to FSD going there. Good news is that all the data from US should make it very capable over there...of course there are still nuances specific to that area but you'll be starting off very close to usable.
@rogerfroud30014 сағат бұрын
It's not 'game changing; until it's unsupervised. Yes, it's egding slowly towards that goal, but it's still a very long way away, maybe a decade and another breakthrough in hardware or AI network design to get there. Let's not pretend that we're just around the corner when we aren't. Sure, it's amazing, but it still does things that are unacceptable.
@BlackTesla6 сағат бұрын
Never said it was perfect just that it's really good and very usable now. For people with mobility issues, people who drive the same routes frequently, in its current state is very good. The ultimate is unsupervised so you can be productive while being driven but it's not even been a year for v12 and look how far it's come in short order. Gotta pay respect where due.

I don't know about his upgrade? My car does not go the speed limit. If I am at a 40 mph zone my model Y is going 32 miles. Same on a 25mph or 30mph it is always way below the speed limit. why?

Nit picking here, but this drives me nuts. There's no such word as "irregardless". It's "regardless". The prefix "ir-" means the same thing as the suffix "-less", making it redundant and, as a double negation, reversing it's meaning.

Nice. This build is great for me too. (Also HW4 Model S in Morris County, NJ). The big test for me: From 280 Westbound, to 287 Southbound...to Route 10 West. There is about 1 mile where the car needs to get over several lanes to get on to 10 West....previous builds failed about 70% of the time. This stack? Has not failed yet.

I had v12.5.4.1. A couple days ago I updated to v12.5.4.2 on my 2023 M3p. Both of these version on my car has a lot of phantom breaking and in a couple areas it is extremely harsh. I can’t trust to engage with passengers and I have to keep my foot on the pedal to counter act 47mph to 8 to 12 mph. I always keep an eye in the rear view mirror so I don’t cause an accident. Seat belts even tighten. I would guess this version is very slightly better. I have Teslogic App and these versions of FSD have the “Motors Power, kW in the App Surging then dropping off all the time pulsing the car. I know the TEAM with get this AI3 going.

We are all crazy with the speed! When we are truly not driving and not paying attention we don’t need to worry about how fast we are going. You’re not picking 2-4mph!! That’s crazy. And the car doesn’t need the lane markings. It’s using all the photons in all the cameras. It’s using the lines as well. The cameras detect the road markings way better than the human eye can see them with sun glare.
@BlackTesla5 сағат бұрын
That's one way to think about it. However, despite the car doing it's thing it's still a computer amongst humans and it needs to understand the environment around it and be able to adapt and react accordingly.

Great video as usual! I love the new fsd build as well, but when it comes to school speed limit signs, which here in TX have flashing lights & signage Indicating 20/25 mi/hr when kids are present. I’ve yet to see fsd handle this event. Does not slow down at all. I have to usually disengage when I come across that. I’ve sent numerous recordings in, & hopefully this will be addressed soon. Thx

I like your measured reviews but I see some major issues that are basic to fsd and should be solved already. 1)High speed on exit ramps. I had to brake hard to avoid rear ending lead car stopped at light. 2. Tailgating. Follows lead car on highway too close for my comfort 3. Still some basic issues being in wrong lane (eg right turn only when you want to go straight) on streets. I do see improvements like 100pct compliance w/signaling, passing behavior etc. Sometimes my drives remind me of "Jaws".. Just when you feel safe....(fyi, I am driving in CHILL)

I wish I had a HW4 vehicle man, it sucks how quickly my new car with HW3 got outdated lol. So far 12.5.4.2 is kinda awful on HW3 ngl. And still no e-2-e on the highway for us yet. Still cool to see the improvements though. I just wish they gave out the free trials when people got FSD 13 or at least when end to end on the highway came out for everyone lol. They always give them out at the worst times.

I think I'm still at 12.5.4 Anyway I was using FSD today and it pissed me off. The exit is approaching and it's sticking to the left lane. I use the turn signal to tell it to change lanes. There is huge gap where it can merge. It begins to merge then it backs off like a terrified driver. It has done this the last time I used it. It starts to change lanes then for no good reason it aborts. It makes me look crazy. Did they fix that?

I can't say for sure but I can say a lot of the known issues on highway are gone with E2E.
