@@G82WattsSpeak for yourself dinosaur. The 911 was actually an eyesore until they got back to their senses and brought back the round headlights. The model S Plaid is not just the ultimate sedan, it’s also the ultimate hatchback. Try and fit some surfboards or bicycle in the back of your favorite 911. I digress. I actually hate “sports cars “. They are useless. They pretend to be race cars and they get smoked by the Plaid where all the pissing contests actually take place: from light to light.

Just told my wife yesterday in traffic !! don't look at that porsche honey our tesla is just as fast ! 🤣🤣 U finally feel validated but too bad no one cares. U and I both know if a new 911 gt or turbo pulls up ain't a soul looking at ur model s tesla or taking a pic of it. Not a soul head turns in traffic and says look a TESLA. 😂 Basic traffic ass.

@@dialy1dude u realizes a classic holds value and appreciates right? This used cost half of what it did just 2 years ago. Clearly the consumer base spoke and they don't care for it. Meanwhile 911s are going for 100k+ over sticker .. no need to compare though. Enjoy ur tesla and stay in ya lane.
@n4go
@n4go 2 ай бұрын
@@G82Watts I think the point was not to compare it to 911 but rather point out that the design was/is very good. If you take almost any car and compare their ten year old sedan model to a 2024 model most of them look very dated. Whereas the design of Model S hasn't really changed that much in ten years and even a 2014 Model S is still a very nice looking car.

@@Lawlsforlawls My Model S is 9.5 yrs old with 227,000 miles, and it runs perfectly .. it owes me nothing. Batteries do not tend to fail outright (under 2% ever fail), what they do is lose range over time. Not sure it's about being demanding more than it's about holding Tesla accountable as no longer a startup company. Meaning when they say something is available it should be available not coming in a few years while charging for it today. Tesla is no longer a fledgling car/software company but a maturing company that should be better at Quality Control at scale and delivering on promised features. If they can master that, then everyone will be happy.

bluetooth antenna in back seat screen... does that exist on all 2023 model S plaid? Can someone let me know? Thanks.

There is a Bluetooth antenna in the rear for all refresh Model S cars, the issue is that an updated one was needed to pair headphones in the rear and that was added for 2023 model so you should be fine.

I just purchased a 2024 Model 3 Performance and it's interesting to see how similar the interior of my car is to a new Model S Plaid.
@MarkChinsky

So yes, there are 'improvements' but it sounds like 96% the same car. There had to be something more to make that big a financial investment in what is virtually the same thing. Other car brands, there can be really big differences between 2021 and 2024 but with Tesla OTA updates, they somewhat disincent you to upgrade. Especially when they aren't running FSD transfer deals. Did your old one have a ton of miles? Were you/are you leasing? Also curious. Given the really expensive tires and rims and insane performance, might I ask what you pay for in insurance in NJ (I live here also) and did you take out some kind of separate tire & rim insurance? My guess is a set of tires will set you back at least $1,600 without any road rash issues. I had an Infiniti Q50 Red Sport a few years back with run flat low profile performance tires, and it turned out to be like a 3rd of a lease payment a month practically in wheel and tire costs and it gave it a crappy ride compared to the bigger sidewalls.
@BlackTesla
@BlackTesla 2 ай бұрын
We wanted to get the best version of the car and the opportunity to get a lot of the things we thought we paid for and transfer FSD was the seller for us. The old car didn't have a ton of miles but was incomplete and cost way more just didn't sit right with us. We've been here a while so we know how to navigate potholes....only one to curb the rims is FSD 🫣
@MarkChinsky
@MarkChinsky 2 ай бұрын
@@BlackTesla Yea, the 'run flat' tires Infiniti used would go 'flat' (meaning you could drive 50 miles before having to get it replaced) almost every time you hit a big pothole and as you know in NJ, one of those can sneak up on you any time. If they didn't go flat, they would get a bubble that required tire replacement. So happy I spent the $2,100 for 3 years or tire and wheel insurance because I went through so many tires, that I never need to pay for replacements due to wear and probably had 5 or 6 visits for wheel rash repair. Without the Tesla cameras it was so easy to miss an unexpected curb in a parking lot etc. It does amaze me how (never been in or drove one) the S now looks so similar to the Model 3 inside with just slightly bigger dimensions and yet costs almost 2x as much. You would think they would stuff in some Mercedes/Lexus like 'trimmings' in the interior to differentiate it from the Model 3. I do think externally its still one of the nicest looking cars on the road (which you can't really say about the X or Y and about the pre-refresh 3) Beautiful car, good luck!

Congratulations on the new car, and thanks for this review. You cover all the changes well in a concise and soothing manner, very helpful to me. I also like reminders of the old executive seats and other Tesla trivia. I am considering upgrading my 2018 M3 to a new LR Model S or the AWD Model 3. I sat in a new Performance Model 3, and while the seats would be great for autocross, they are not as comfortable or easy to get in and out as the seats in the AWD. I like the smaller dimensions of the M3, but also like the more substantial feel of the Model S. MS also has bigger screen, better audio, and more sofisticated suspension (air + adaptive damping + virtual ball lower A-arm). I am willing to pay extra for the S, but I really want to have both cars.😅

I went from 21s (Pilot Super Sport) to 19s (Pilot Sport All Season 4) on my 2019 Model S and didn't see any difference in efficiency, basically 310 Wh/mi. The tires have the same rolling resistance, so it makes sense. Most people get the 19s with low-resistance tires, which explains why most people think the 19s are more efficient. As for weight differences between the wheel sizes, if you're using regen braking most of the time, you get back most of the energy that you put into turning the wheels, so again it's a wash. Great review! I look forward to the day the S goes steer by wire, maybe then I'll finally upgrade. That would make the yoke make sense.

The 3 is nice compared to the old 3. It's still not nicer than the S. You'll need to drive them both to see what I mean. A lot of people are drawn to the 3 because of the price and it is a great value for the money but it's not in the same class as the S imo.

Better not worse, everything is better. Somehow Tesla builds poor quality vehicles then over time brings them to where they should be and we (myself) all praise how good it is...when it should've been that way all along 😁 but hey they are still a young in the auto manufacturing world so we cut them some slack
