This is amazing! Lebo M's version of the song holds up just as well as Carmen Twillie's recording from the original film! :)

Wow! I've heard the first part of the song with Timon & Pumbaa singing their version of "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" before, but I've never heard the second part with Matthew Broderick & Lea Salonga! Sounds very similar to the 1993 demo that was intended as a more romantic duet ballad, as opposed to the final film with Timon, Pumbaa, Simba, Nala and heavenly choir. Thanks so much for sharing! :)

Some of these lyrics would be used for the version that Elton John would perform himself.

It's interesting listening to Orin in this recording. Even compared to the 1984 performance of the same production, he seems to be much less goofy and exaggerated.

Holy Pip! So many scenes I've never seen 😭💙 I laughed a lot at Morgan and Giselle sneaking out without the nanny noticing. I always wondered why Robert would leave his daughter home alone. And wow, Narissa would be so much more killer in the tower scene. They even animated the dragon, I think they thought it was too violent and deleted it.

Love the ragtime feel of this, plus the harmonizing here kinda works better at around 1:16. The final version works, but this version is more fun and catchy.

I'll be honest, they were FOOLS to not have Idina sing in the first film! I love their duet. But, and this is my opinion, Ever Ever After was the perfect finish to the film. Enchanted as a song was nowhere near as catchy. If anything, they could have transitioned the duet in the hall into Ever After and had a lovely ending.

Her line, "My whole life long", would have been a perfect transition into Ever After, that way the flow of the end credits is preserved while still giving Nancy and Edward their moment!

Pulling this out of a thread bc everyone needs to know. Stephen Schwartz wrote Ever Ever After for Idina to sing, to finish her character arc! Disney decided to bring in Carrie Underwood for the pop star appeal. I'm guessing this duet was written after that but ultimately cut. Here's the interview where he talks about it, starting about 5:10 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqS4nXdtaJx3pMUsi=nWJAHMrnkL5Y06nL

I alwayst thought them ending together was so forced. Like they just instantly fell in love? I know that is fairy tale trope, but the point of the movie is to subvert tropes. This scene improves that.

No wonder I had expected too much from the romantic subplot with Frozen. But the plot twist with Hans almost made a mess of the beautiful story of sisterhood Disney set out to do. And Idina is one of few big reasons my 20 year old self was anxious to see Frozen
