Here is the demo to "Something About Them (Tito’s Song)," AKA "El Gato," written by lyricist Howard Ashman and composer Alan Menken for the Disney film Oliver & Company. Unused, the song was written for Cheech Marin's Tito.
In an April 1988 letter to "George" (likely the film's director George Scribner), Howard wrote of the song, "Basically, the idea is to give Cheech a solid musical framework to play in. You and he would want to elaborate on the ad-lib dialogue sections I'm sure. I do like the idea that Tito gets so emotionally involved with what he's singing that he spills over into speech while the music plays on. The demo, of course, is sketchy in the arrangement department and my performance is ... well ... what shall we call it? Offensive? Yeah, that's the word."
