Great, can i ask, how quicly change views for priming engine, pull prop and into cockpit without check list? ( you using ctrl+4, ctrl+5, ..) And how can i use both left magneto's and both right magneto's. Thanks

Compass and heading indicators operate incorrectly. The card in the real compass and heading indicator remain North oriented and the plane turns around them. The cards do not spin! I get that not every system in a sim aircraft can or even needs to be modeled but a simple primary flight instruments should work correctly ( and in many other sim planes they do) and there is no reason this couldn't have been done here other than the game programmer that did these instruments is not a pilot and or didn't bother to look a a photo of the instrument panel of a vintage airplane. What a shame.

i wish i found this video like 2 hours ago. i kept having the same issue with it loving to go left and i thought my settings were messed up or something else… 2 hours later and with me changing and looking at everything in my game settings and inside the cockpit i find this video and realized everyone is also experiencing this and its just how the plane operates and not a problem at all 🥲 Great video and very informative. you helped me a lot and now i can finally leave the airport without lining up 90 degrees on the runway for takeoff 😂 You gained a subscriber 👍🏼

Nieuport 24 was a very agile fighter great for 1vs1 but in large formations its lacking because of limited speed compared to other fighters of the era

Thanks for the Vid, i held off getting this due to the sounds, however I have since got it, but even when the wind is 0 and the rudder trim set to 6 degrees nose right, the aircraft still pulls hard left, im full right rudder and nothing happens, then all of a sudden my rudder kicks in and yaws me all the way to the right then back the other way, it's a bit ridiculous really

This was working great for me until a month or so ago. Then it started talking to me. Some dude (instructor?) is calling out altitudes, and making smart-ass remarks when I land hard. Totally annoying. I have tried everything to shut this voice off, to no avail. It has ruined this airplane for me.
@unrealizedflight
@unrealizedflight 7 ай бұрын
There are two ways to get rid of the "instructor". The quickest is go to the payload section of the Weight and Balance menu and set the co-pilot weight to zero. The other way is to click on any of the 4 screws on the data entry panel this will bring up the "Mongoose Menu" once the menu is open click on Option 1 I think its labeled maintenance, once in the maintenance menu look for an option that says something like toggle voice or disable voice something like that and click on it. it should be disabled after that. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to permanently disable the voice, so you'll have to disable it each time you fly it.

Having been around rotary-powered original and repro WW1 aircraft (including a replica Nieuport 11 with an 80hp Le Rhone) it sounds terrific, but man does it seem fast! It feels like the performance needs to be pulled back a tad although the takeoff run is pretty close to realistic. Taxying: when you need to turn you have someone hold onto a wing and the pilot adds throttle. I’m guessing wingwalkers are a little tricky to add in the sim 😅

Why was it jerking around? Like sudden jerks when you were banking. Didn't look realistic at all. A couple of other Got Friends planes do this too.

Avionics on for engine start. Interesting…but it’s a sim. Would love to see what the ground characteristics are. Left turning tendencies and such. In real life my 170 is pretty docile but does require some rudder dancing to maintain centerline. On landing it looked like you basically did a wheel landing, the bounce was due to you flaring with excess energy left in the wing. That’s where you would hold a mild flare to touch back down in a three point stance. To do a proper wheel landing technique….you would carry a tiny bit of power and hold it off til it touches…should almost surprise you when wheels touch and there is little to no flare on a wheel landing…at touchdown power off and slight forward on yoke to keep the wings from flying, forcing wheels into the ground and keeping the the tail up. Wheel landings are certainly used for crosswind landings. For a 3 point you would want to come in a little lower…round out at 3-5 feet and flare until the energy is gone and let it touch on all three. With those trees on approach I would come in higher…more altitude if there would be an engine issue…even though it’s a sim…fly it like life…then pull power and forward slip….aileron into the wind and full opposite rudder….slip it down to say ten feet off ground and then round out…hold it off…hold it off and turn it into a three point or wheel landing depending on conditions. Nice video. Hope you practice the differences between wheel and three point landings. Nothing better than being a proficient Tailwheel pilot! Tailwheels are the best! To test left turn tendencies to compare to the real plane. Line up on the right side of the runway. No rudder input. Go full throttle and it should turn left, then power off and catch it with right rudder or brake as needed. Then do the same line up and go full power and only tap on right rudder to stay straight. As soon as you have a positive roll you should be pushing forward to raise the tail. Get up to say 35 and pull power and let the tail settle. I do that technique in any Tailwheel plane I fly for the first time. You learn the left turn tendencies and as you also get to raise the tail. When you pull the power you’re learning how it will react when the tail drops as in life rudder effectiveness dissipates quickly as the tail drops.

I just recently got the 40th Anniversary MSFS and when the Autumn sale happened and I saw this aircraft I jumped on the opportunity. It is absolutely a joy to fly, especially in VR seeing those MASSIVE engines to either side and the superchargers glowing at night! Just playing around, I unlatched the canopy at 250 mph... THAT scared me a bit, but then I rolled down the sides and enjoyed the "enhanced" engine noise. Biggest issue I had so far was running out of gas and having to learn where the tank switches were. But in VR, I couldn't quite see the fuel pump switches. Now I know! I did get it from the FS site and was wondering why the barrels were missing. "Guns bad..." I guess. Minor hiccup but 100% worth the price of admission.

This is one reason I was quite disappointed with this. I was hoping it would feel faster like their bf-109, spitfire and p-38. The big 2200 hp P&W double wasp made this thing pretty rapid in real life.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. I downloaded a F4U pilot manual, but it's quite old and its picture illustration is blurry. I have trouble understanding how to actually operate it by just reading the manual. Your video clears up my doubts.
