Very nice review, thanks for the video. I found myself with a couple of bugs in my first couple of flights with the hellcat, the first time I couldn't make the gas tank lever to move, I run out of gas in the tank that was stuck and crash, the second one the gas tank lever worked perfectly but it didn't saved the settings in the tablet until I damaged the engine and crashed I noticed that the realistic setting was on, suddenly everything was ok after that and 3rd and 4th flight has been a dream, I love it!!!

Thanks you just cut my learning time in half. Thanks for doing the ground work. Great video. I took it up when I bought it but I assume due to engine management the engine shut down after I landed while I was still on the runway…. Got to do some research. If you use head tracking don’t have to map anything… don’t get track ir… get aim xyz. Had track ir but it’s unreliable. Infrared camera overheats. So I went with the new aim xyz. It’s way better.

The actual top speed was around 391mph 340kn. Later models F6F-5 around 400mph.

This is one reason I was quite disappointed with this. I was hoping it would feel faster like their bf-109, spitfire and p-38. The big 2200 hp P&W double wasp made this thing pretty rapid in real life.

Thanks for the review. Very useful. Where were you flying during the review? Those rocky outcrops look amazing.

Thanks it is very helpful , but can You explain , why does the engine of Hellcat breaks up after 10 - 15 minutes of flying and finally it stops, forcing me to do an emergency landing? It happens avery single flight. Whether I do smth wrong? Regards!

These are the setting for the engine; RPM 2550, manifold pressure 44-45, cowl flaps set to at least 10% open, oil cooler shutters 20-25% open and the intercooler shutter can remain closed. This should keep you in the air without any problems. That said the cooling flap percentages may change depending on outside air temperature. You can always check the setting tab of the tablet to see what is causing the problem. Hope that helps if not let me know.

I thought the engine sound would drown out the undercarriage motors, not the other way around…lol

Hardcore WW2 lover but MSFS obviously just doesn't have the special sauce to put me in that seat of these monster engines. I have bee fortunate to have flown in a majority of the WW2 fighters/ bombers with my association with many of the groups that still maintain/fly and tour with them. Of course you can't truly experience the full effect of the powerful/living machines but DCS shows it can be done. A good sound system and a Buttkicker really helps but still MSFS feels sterile. The lighting and others feel stiff, generic and any challenge feels cheap. While on DCS the suspension of belief works, MSFS doesn't. This isn't because the warbirds don't have teeth. I bought the Hellcat out of desperation for a warbird in the incredible graphic and real MSFS world but again I just don't get the same connection I do with DCS.
