Technically, blue fire jellyfish (or simply "blue jellyfish") are in the same taxonomic family as lions manes (Family Cyanidae)- which are collectively called the "Lion's mane jellyfish" (at least, jellyfish warehouse refers to another member of this family as a "dwarf lion's mane" so I'm simply going off of that). Its scientific name is the Cyanea lamarckii If the "Blue" was implying that this jellyfish is simply a colour variant of the Lion's Mane jellyfish (Cyanea capillita), then yeah there would be a mistake, but the term itself isn't completely incorrect. Being such a cosmopolitan and diverse species, it's natural for common names to get blurred and confused. Many notable species don't even have their own common name (Such as the beautiful Nausithoe aurea- the face of Wikipedia's crown jellyfish page).

We found this at Cove in Aberdeen, Scotland. We find this around our coasts.
