We have a bird feeder station in our garden in Aberdeen. The garden is below a willow tree. The bird feeders are loaded with fat balls, a mix of sunflower seeds and meal worms and Nyjer seeds.
We regularly have many birds coming en mass to feast. We set up a mobile phone to record the comings and goings over 50 minutes. This video shows a 26 minute portion. On the video, you'll see; blue tits, great tits, coal tits, house sparrows and gold finches. The young gold finches have the tail markings but not the red on the fore head like the parents.
You may well see other birds not mentioned here.
There are 2 feeders in view. Remember to look also at the bird feeder on the left which is partly obscured by leaves. You may well see birds feeding there when the feeder in full view has no visitors.
At times, we may also see starlings, black birds, robins and feral and wood pigeons, almost all at the same time as the other characters.. 'The whole gang'
Grab yourselves a coffee and settle to watch the birds in our garden.
We apologise for the sound which is intermittent. You might wish to turn the volume off for this video.
