The rotators from Nelson do a pretty good job. Although i've heard Komet's twisters are starting to gain popularity now. And their droplet size is much better. The Nelson SR100 is a icon. Show's how well they're built, with proper service they last forever. I've seen some used SR100s in my day, some rust stained and used almost daily, and they just keep on workin'. I like them better than the komet made guns. At least Nelson doesn't make their guns plastic. Seen one that was completely destroyed by a squirrel. The farmer got a SR100 Nelson and i bet his little squirrel chewing problem ends there.

I bale Timothy and Orchard grass with a 5050 SSB. 2nd and 3rd. cuttings are always a struggle in that the grasses are fine and it takes a lot of back pressure to pack out the bales. Then they are never very uniform or tight. My thinking is that the Baleskiis might be a big help. My concern is that all feedback that I read is around alfalfa, and this is a grass situation, not alfalfa. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Regards
@Xealuz9 ай бұрын
If you have a hard time getting the weight up, these will definitely help. They're good in dry alfalfa but make it hard to keep the bale weight down when the dew starts to set.
@edwardboochard5825 Жыл бұрын
Now that the bale skiis have been in place for a couple of years, have they been worth the money and performed as promised. Regards, Ed 8:32
@Xealuz9 ай бұрын
yeah, I think so. they do seem to keep more leaves in the bale in dry conditions and have dramatically reduced pressure needed to set the weight. Although, if you bale in humid conditions they will make it difficult to keep from making heavy bales.

How have the bale skiis worked? How do u think they would be on grass? Where can one get a set?
@Xealuz3 жыл бұрын
There worked well for me. I do believe they reduce the leaf loss in alfalfa and also reduce the necessary bale chamber pressure. In alfalfa, when the humidity gets borderline high it becomes difficult to keep the bale weight down. In grass, I think they could be helpful by either decreasing bale chamber pressure or allowing for denser bales. I'm not sure they have the same value proposition if you're baling primarily grass. I bought mine from my local New Holland dealer, but you can also buy them direct from bale skiis.

Why don't you run the turn cylinder off the rear SCV?
@Xealuz3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I certainly could have, but I would have had to run two very long hoses from the back of the tractor all the way to the attachment point on the loader. Then, I would have to disconnect those hoses from the grapple and the rear of the tractor if I need the scv's. The valve was $165, I bet I would spend a decent amount of that if I bought 2 really long hoses. In hindsight, I wouldn't have bought the flat-face couplers...

Underneath the floormat on the right side is a metal plate you can remove to get to 2 large plugs and plastic covers to get cables into the cab and under the cover to the right of the seat is a 6pin (I think) DEUTSCH connector which run the H3 H4 Soft ride and some other 12V signals (at least in the EU version)

The system sold with the wagon, ill have to look into the parts list and see what I can pull together. I'd be able to flash the code onto the arduino, but may be a bit difficult to get everything detailed out enough so someone else could get it wired.
