Thank goodness you can’t go wrong with Glass. The production is piss poor, and whomever called themselves audio/visual should’ve been fired and replaced with a bunch of AV teens who would’ve at least had the decency to keep the focus on the main voices. After watching four different versions of this stunning opera, this is by far my least favorite. Whereas the MET was almost too simplified, it at least leant itself to the dreamlike quality of the music. Everything here looks cheap and moderately rehearsed. That one shot of the three priest during ‘Window of Appearances’ says it all. Bad acting, lighting, staging, costumes, makeup, and again, piss-poor videography. If you’re going to do something this big, PLEASE respect the quality of the music. But thanks for posting, I love this opera.

Ton, I just got out of the Hospitel , they put in a pacemaker. I still don't feel very good , very weak and I don;t think the pacemaker is working right. With all the back trouble and medication I have to take I feel like I'm 100 years old and can hardly walk. I need your prayers. I still love your version of the song. It's wonderful she didn't end up going to scrap. We sailed on her when she was with Premier Cruise Line as the REMBRANDT on Jan. 2, 2000. To me she was still the ROTTERDAM.

No, I didn't get it rebuilt and I now live with my daughter in her home. I did have a singer from Scotland call me about my song and he recorded it in Scotland called (Merry Christmas Elvis by Brandon McPhee). It is also on You tube and many other places. God Bless You . (Mac)

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful song. I love the way Maarten Teekens sing it and the music was also wonderful . Some people still believe Elvis is still alive and until proven differently he may be. If he is, I hope he hears this song that was written in memory of him. It is the first and only Christmas song ever written and copyrighted in memory of Elvis. He really did a great job on the song and I doubt if his version will ever be out done by anyone. Ton is a great musician and will also forever be my friend. Carol , I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm going on 90 years old now and it's hard to remember a lot of things but I remember Betty Ann and her family when I lived in Memphis. I always loved Elvis because we were alike in a lot of ways except for looks and talent. I learned three chords on a guitar and my son put the video on You Tube for me. If you wand to hear me singing the song it is on You Tube (Merry Christmas Elvis by James McQueen) I made the video in the basement. That home burned up and I now like in a different place. Woh! How amazing to see this. Happy to say I was in the audience at this marvelous pop up theatre build at the edge of the harbor, made up of sea containers. Grandiose production making a deep impression. Was looking for some footage quite some time, thought it was lost cos difficult to find some retrospective images, sounds or reviews. And now finding this complete live registration! Thanks very much for providing and keeping it accessible for future generations. Love it.
