Knee high by the 4th of July, an American adage from years gone by and still stands today, this year in Wisconsin anyone who planted early the corn/maize was indeed taller than that but then the weather turned for the worst which made planting very late, going to be knee high approximately middle of July which is rare, haymaking here is a real challenge as well, two fine days then two days thunderstorms, some including myself have still not been able to cut our first crop yet!
@farmercornwall
@farmercornwall 8 күн бұрын
The maize has caught up now and lots of crops looking pretty good, be interesting to see how it turns out and what the cob/kernel size is like at harvest. I'm glad we don't have to rely solely on making hay, we have only been able to do as much as we have because of wrapping the bales.

It was really interesting to get away and see something a bit different, a very nice part of the country. These are the first herbal leys we have planted but hoping to get three years before we plough them. Think we will have to be careful we don't overgraze them in the winter with the sheep.

Bloody balers lol, we doubled up on round balers this year thinking we could get on quicker, (we only make hay) all we did was double up the damn problems, along with that the weather is not being very cooperative so at the end of the day, if we had a 100 balers we still wouldn’t be able to bale a single bale🙄😂

@user-fz9qr8vz9i
@user-fz9qr8vz9i Ай бұрын
If the baler operates in manual surely must be a sensor sticking effecting the auto sequence as you let bale out it’s tripping it self again. Least you carry on baling! I’ve had no end of leaks on our quickie spool block with flat face couplers, which they went back to the old 1/2 standard ones
@farmercornwall
@farmercornwall 8 күн бұрын
I had some very good advice from AGCO baler specialist who had worked for Welger previously and he knew what the problem was, just a shame it was such an expensive fix. Its good to know that AGCO have good parts and service backup for Welger balers. Hopefully they can get the oil leaks fixed, so far it's fix one and then another one starts.
