If we ever get a true darkstalker game ruby and amigo needs to be in the game. I would pop off, it makes perfect sense for their inclusion.

I really like the, sometimes prefer, the alternate stages. Absolute favorite being Ruby Heart's ship at night, like you said the cool blue hue and moonlight background just make the stage ooze with personality. Just wish they made the final boss stage selectable in the original DC version. Only way I remember accessing it was by using a GameShark.

If I had to pick a new character for a new Capcom vs game from RE, I would want Jack Krauser from RE 4.

You know since you brought up Sora and SSBU am I the only one that’s a little disappointed that Sakurai had to remove the Disney references from SSBU. Sure Disney is for better or worse one of the most biggest film studios in the world and licensing out their characters to appear in the background of the Hollow Bastion stage would be expensive but still I would have been cool to see that.

Ruby Heart wouldn't be out of place in the skies of Arcadia or Xenoblade 2. In addition, she should be a kind of bridge between the Capcom universes, traveling through the worlds to have adventures with other characters or take treasures.

I used to play her whenever I did play MVC2. Maybe if she had an arcade action title beforehand like SNK Athena it would have been easier to get her into more Vs games.

My favorite example of original characters in crossover games is Reiji and Xiaomu, because they form part of a larger shared universe of crossover original characters that Bandai Namco owns, with Project X Zone, super robot taisen and compati hero all being connected crossover games of different mediums Now that I'm thinking about it it's weird that Ruby heart was never in Project x zone

I hope that if a Darkstalkers 4 happens, she gets included as one of the characters even if she wasn't meant to be a Darkstalker initially.

Did you have to grind for your characters or did the rereleases come with all the costumes? I still play the original DC version

I've always thought it was a waste that Ruby didn't become the ongoing protagonist of the Vs Capcom series going forward. CvS2,TvC, and Marvel 3 would've all been better for her inclusion. Also, the Pirate Ship Higemaru x Street Fighter lore was brand new to me, that's crazy that Momotaro nearly got into V. I kind of want to see how he'd end up playing, probably not entirely unlike Ruby.

Ruby is such an odd but cool character that it sucks all the attempts to bring her back never worked out cause she could be a great protag for her own game, In a world after Marvel 3 and Infinite I doubt we'll ever see another OC for MvC but Ruby at least got to be created and be memorable in her first appearance My hopes are for Street Fighter 6 have her as an playable fighter in dlc or maybe in MvC 4 if this ever happens

As a (not good) character designer, Ruby Heart OOZES personality and even though I literally had no clue who she was till this video (outside of "that one character that crashes the game") the way her moveset is themed and the concepts behind her are so sick. She reminds me in a way of classic jojo characters, whod say that they been part of some crazy stories and dealt with ridiculous foes like it was just a tuesday and it wouldnt be that surprising. If she ever comes back I hope they lean more on her adventures having certain objects or even new moves using magical items from other games like power stone, darkstalkers or even (long shot) some marvel related magic trinkets to show her time with the marvel cast.

Ive always wondered if the design documents went over who those members of her crew are. You see them hop on screen sometimes when Ruby wins. There's even some robed wizard or ghost guy among them.

It was bold on Capcom's part to use an OC over Ryu as their lead in an crossover and while I might not know how she was received back in the day when MvC2 was first released, that she has enough fans to want her return makes her a successful protagonist in her own right. Too bad Capcom never tried another stint like that again though. Outside of the trio of OCs in Fighting All-Stars, they went back to Ryu as their poster boy in all future crossovers, though it's easy to see why.

It stinks that Amingo and Ruby Heart are so iconic but have yet to appear in another game. So sad. Son Son needs to make a return to

Honestly Capcom would be smart to make an Amingo or Ruby Heart game. There's no expectation of what the game would be, and despite them technically being a new IP, they would already have fan recognition

She is a gem of a character

It's interesting to see where characters that are original in crossovers end up. There's no in between for them. You either have great characters or throwaway ones. It kind of sucks that she hasn't been utilized, and I would like to see her get utilized in another crossover fighter. She has the potential to get her own game tbh. Great video dude.

Original characters in crossovers can be pretty hard to players sell at times, but Ruby Heart has a pretty cool style and design that makes her stand out. Definitely makes me wish for her to appear in more Capcom related games as Ruby fits very well in the Capcom universe.

She's also in street Fighter 5 as custom for rose so much they replace the scarf with her chain

I love Ruby Heart so much. Of course, when first playing MvC 2, I assumed there was some cool pirate-themed Capcom game I didn't know about and assumed she was from that... and when I finally discovered the game Pirate Ship Higemaru in an old PS2 Capcom Collection, I was so disappointed that she was nowhere to be found xD Personally, I would love for her to have her own RPG or Zeldalike adventure game that has the vibe of say, Skies of Arcadia? Side note, but I had no idea Breath of Fire III and IV had the same composer! The soundtracks have almost nothing in common aside from being really, really good. Wow talk about a range :0

Probably one of the best OCs in fighting games Is funny because Capcom teased us with Dai Koukai Frontier having Ruby Heart as a main character there only to cancel it silently and then during SFV's lifespan they created "Ruby" who is a total diferent character from Ruby Heart that just happens to sport her appearence without the eyepatch, she exists in the SF universe but they are probably never going to use her 😢
