Blackbeard's crew is made up of inmates from the lowest level of Impel Down(inmates who's names were erased from history due to how brutal they were) and so them taking a shot from even Garp wouldn't take them all down. Also red lighting is the sign that you have Conqueror's haki and Koby's attack was pure armament haki.

It’s definitely riyou, I wish the studio would use red lightning for conqueror’s only since it was introduced that way, coby’s attack had no lightning in the manga while garp’s attacks did

Guys the DB franchise is really an amazing watch if you have the patience to get past some of the very early parts, why else would it be so popular, but it starts off more like a gag series which i guess can turn some fans away, but trust me, the tone will shift in time and it doesn't take to long for this to happen in the OG series even. After that you will be hooked and not be able to stop. The amazing cast of characters, the world building, the adventure and classic comedy, its just a thrilling experience being a dragonball fan.

Yeah lol, if all you have seen of the DB franchise is the very little of the OG series, then this series will confuse you alot. Its for people with alot of context already about the world and different universes that make up the entire verse. At least this is kind of a teaser of what dragonball evolves into later but I wouldn't say its for new Dragonball fans

The first half of the anime basically summarizes the last saga of Dragon Ball Z, the Majin Boo saga. You'll have to rush through the OG Dragon Ball reactions if you want to keep up with Daima. Apparently he'll be making a lot of DB/DBZ references. If you skip the OG DB and OG DBZ filler episodes, you'll advance quite a bit.

At the rate you two are going you'll have to get back to Daima in about 5 years. There's a bunch of movies for Dragonball, DBZ, and two for Super that are original content though you may wanna watch the movies that take the place of most of the beginning of Super. Obviously, you'll have to work the TFS in as well at some point maybe after each season of the actual show... wow... that's going to be a lot but the TeamFourStar stuff is funny and alludes to a bunch of stuff that is only in the manga that was cut out of the actual show.
