I went with a BLS at UMPI. I work in the field I already want to, so I’ve qualified for tech graduate degrees, some I need to take 1 or 2 classes for. Looking at CSIA, SE, and CS grad programs, but I put a pause on that just to see how things go since I’m approaching 4YoE.

Great video! Two questions: How long do you expect it to take to finish the ace transferable credits before needing to start the wgu courses? Trying to plan my start date. And how long each day do you suggest we devote to the acceleration hack to do it in under a year?

@@alexsheppe Bachelors in comp sci
@alexsheppeКүн бұрын
ACE Credits will probably take four months if you do all the sites at the same time. Probably 5 to 5 1/2 months if you do them separately. Just my IMO, still need a lot of free time. Then WGU will take 1-2 terms if you transfer in 75+ credits. 1 Term in the C.S. program is doable, but IT Foundations and IT Applications could take a month each if you don’t transfer in CompTIA A+.
@alexsheppeКүн бұрын
Actually, scratch that, forgot WGU got rid of those two courses in their Comp Sci program a long time ago. They are in the IT, Cyber, and Cloud degrees.

Hi Alex, I am going into the Bachelor's cybersecurity degree with no transfer credits, and I plan to spend 5-8 hours a day on it, maybe more to complete the program in 1-2 terms. I wanted to know your input on the order in which I should take the classes. I wanted to knock out the gen ed's quickly so I can just focus on the technical stuff, but my program mentor said that some people get burnt out that way.
@alexsheppe4 күн бұрын
You’re in control of the order of your classes, do what you want and don’t be influenced by your mentor.
@aaliyahahmed33604 күн бұрын
@@alexsheppe So I just had my second meeting with her and she basically just straight up told me she won’t do that because they strongly advise against changing the degree plan already there and taking the general education credits first. I’m thinking about getting a new program mentor but I dont know. She seems limiting and wont let me do my degree how I want to. Thanks for responding and reassuring me Alex. I really appreciate that.
@alexsheppe4 күн бұрын
@aaliyahahmed3360 Push back hard enough and they will let you do what you want. But the order may not be that big of a deal. How come you don’t wanna do ACE Credits, are you getting the degree for free?

Hi Alex, I really love your content!!! Quick question, for me, all I need is an IT bachelor degree asap (Not IT Management though), I have a business bachelor and have been working as BA and PM positions for 7 years which got me good amount of exposure to data, analytics and a little bit of front end development. Out of all the WGU IT programs, which one would you say is the easiest to accelerate? Would BS IT be the one? Thanks a lot for your insights!!
@alexsheppe5 күн бұрын
That’s a tough, I wouldn’t say any of the tech degrees are easy to accelerate, but maybe Software Engineering.

Thank you for the video. Are there any difficulties getting accepted into Georgia Tech's master's program if you have a Bachelor's degree from WGU that includes Ace transfer credits?
@alexsheppe5 күн бұрын
The CS Degree should work fine regardless of ACE Credits. The other tech degrees, Discrete Math, Calculus, and Data Structures will likely need to be taken a university because WGU’s transcript says they are from those websites. The cool thing about TESU is they say they are from TESU.

Thanks for watching. Looks like Liberty is on par, and perhaps slightly less hackable than SNHU. They are ACE Credit friendly, but they do not allow credits to be transferred directly into the major. Only Computer Science Electives. It’s also an expensive school.
