You can transfer in up to 111 credits, as long as 24 are from a 2 or 4 year college. TESU is one of the 11 Public State University's of New Jersey. I am an alumni of this university and will always be thankful and grateful for earning my Bachelor degree here. If you want to learn how to graduate in a year or less, read below and watch the video.

Hey guys, just want to clarify you CAN transfer in 114 credits and do just Information Literacy and the Capstone at TESU. You can do this by taking the Software Engineering ACE Course from Saylor. Although, sometimes they accept it and sometimes they don’t. TESU is sometimes not consistent, depending who’s evaluating. They will not accept Study’s Software Engineering course (they will, but as an elective). While you can technically transfer in 114 credits, 24 of those transfer credits MUST be from a 2 or 4 year university, and you will have to be required to pay TESU’s $3300 Residency Waiver. TESU is one of the ONLY schools in the country that allows this many transfer units. 90 is the standard among all schools including WGU. I personally completed 9 credits at TESU, the two required courses, and Software Engineering. Feel free to ask me about anything.

Making my plan to primarily transfer in credits from Sophia and Study, the requirement for RA credits was a little tricky and I'm going to do so by getting 5 classes from TECEPs and taking 5 classes at TESU. It's very hackable, but also very unclear.

Hey Alex, thanks for breaking it all down so simply. I've been reading DegreeForum to try to figure out how getting a CS degree from TESU would work, but your video explains it really well.

YES! I've been compiling my plan after doing more research and I'm excited to check this out, thank you so much. WGU is great, but TESU has some interesting differences and advantages that might be better for some people.

Hey Alex , Thank you for your effort to make this video. I am trying to get into Cloud Computing. I have two years degree science. Do you suggest the flat tuition or per credit? and are the class exams similar to WGU? thank you

I had some of the same thoughts. I don't like how easy WGU was for my cybersecurity degree and I think in the future it is going to be seen as a diploma mill. I want to go back to school since I cant get hired anywhere and get a Computer Science degree. I really regret doing the Cybersecurity degree. I am still unsure about WGU vs. TESU but I am leaning towards TESU.

I would love to tell my following get a Computer Science degree over CyberSecurity, but Cyber is like 40% of my following and they have their heart set on it. Cyber is just too hard to break into without experience and tons of certs.

Does the Bachelor of Arts in this degree hold any difference? Also, is there a Sophia transfer list for tesu anywhere ? I have a bunch of classes done there
@alexsheppe
@alexsheppe Ай бұрын
Just send your Sophia transcript to TESU and they’ll figure it out. And no, no one puts Bachelor of Arts or Science on their resume. Just put Bachelor degree.

How are the class over Thomas Edison ? As in testing ? Multiple choice to project ?
@alexsheppe
@alexsheppe Ай бұрын
If I remember correctly, probably 9 quizzes, 9 writing assignments (not that hard), 9 forum discussions (easy), and a final project which usually isn’t too hard. Every class is wildly different though… some will have a final proctored exam and no project, some will have both

Did you take the 3 courses at TESU in the same semester? Like did you take both the Information Literacy and Capstone simultaneously
@alexsheppe
@alexsheppe 11 күн бұрын
I took Critical Information Literacy first which was a easy filler class and took SE and the Capstone at the same time which was manageable.

I know WGU has state accreditation and is completely legitimate, but I'm kind of worried about it becoming a meme from so many people speed running their degrees. Glad there are alternatives.
@alexsheppe

Something to take into consideration. But I also think WGU spends an absorbent amount of money to make sure their image in search engines stays clean. They also are non-profit. Odds are an employer has never heard of WGU, will do a 5 second search, and see it’s totally legitimate.

I’ll be honest, I was a little hesitant on TESU at first because for some reason their Google Search showed some rundown apartment building. They finally fixed it like 3 years ago.

Hey Alex, do you know if TESU CS degree is ABET accredited ?
@alexsheppe
@alexsheppe Ай бұрын
I don’t think so, but tons of CS Degrees are not ABET Accredited including all of the University of California schools. ABET Accreditation means nothing for Computer Science. That is important in majors like Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. ABET is required to take some exams and required by some jobs, when it comes to those majors. Employers do not care about ABET Accreditation regarding Computer Science or Software Engineering. They aren’t true engineering degrees.

@@alexsheppe Ahh I see. Makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. Curious, between the three schools TESU, WGU, UMPI, do you have a preference ? I know WGU gives automatic 3.0 and I assume the other schools give actual GPAs, maybe this can be a consideration.
@alexsheppe
@alexsheppe Ай бұрын
UMPI doesn’t do tech degrees for YourPace. For WGU and TESU all depends on preference. I was attending WGU and realized I was not going to finish in one term (because I didn’t do enough ACE Credits). Speed was important to me, and cost was not. So I took my credits to TESU, did a few courses, and graduated. But those courses were $1600 each and a residency waiver that costs $3300. The only time TESU would be faster, is my own unique case. Stockpile a bunch of WGU CS credits, and then transfer them. TESU needs slightly less CS credits.
@Boomchickapow

@@alexsheppe I see. Thanks for that breakdown. Wow, TESU seems a bit pricier than WGU. That makes sense. Thank you for that insight.
