So, I just today picked up one of these exact coolers. Not just the same model, but with the same exact graphics! I'm about to start doing the exact project, except I'm going to completely gut the old cooling components to reduce weight. Think I might design a bin of some kind to go on in place of all that stuff to act as a storage drawer.

This is a great video. I've been in this hobby for a long, long time and flown just about everything, but some of the most fun I've had has been will little projects and experiments like this. One tip, invest in the appropriate soldering iron for this type work. That 25W job from harbor freight is not a good choice :). You want something with a tiny tip and controllable heat range. Plenty around cheap.

it's amazing the amount of work old printers took to put together, I have a Rostock V2, and you literally had to solder things together on it, my latest printer was less then $200 and i just put 2 screws into it and it was assembled ready to go.. :D
