I built this tonight and it totally worked, I had never soldered anything in my life and I got it to work. However, I recommend the eachine VR006 for anyone looking to build their first FPV whoop. I also recommend the smaller camera linked in the description above. Thanks man, great tutorial for people looking to build a cheap whoop. This thing is tons of fun! I’m going to build another one as a backup lol. Also wanted to add that I used the smaller camera mounted with a rubber band and kept the plastic canopy off and it doesn’t feel sluggish at all, it zips around pretty quick. I’m getting 3+ minutes flight time easily, probably closer to 4 minutes. The recommended extra batteries also work like a charm.

+NeatherBot, it shows in your description that there is a TX module, what does that do and do you need it to fly the drone?
@neatherbot7 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Lenaerts Hey Thomas, great question. The TX module is a Transmitter. Tx = transmitter & Rx = receiver. The controller (or transmitter) that comes with the quad works fine, but if you have a FRSky Taranis and want to control the tiny quad you can buy that TX I listed and pop it in the expansion plug in the back and control it. It is optional, you don't need it to fly this little quad.

@Phrancis57 жыл бұрын
Nice vid for fpv beginners, but I as someone who has gone the same route, I have to disagree with two major choices. The VR007 aren't that much cheaper than the Hobby King Quannum Cyclops ($39), which has almost double the resolution, a brighter screen, and a more sensitive VRX. Having a clearer image is important for avoiding little branches and a more accurate immersive experience. While a cheap knockoff inductrix sounds great, a lot of those E010's don't have strong enough motors to lift an AIO cam. The Eachine H8, or Syma X11 are in the same price range and offer far more lift capacity, endurance, and enough power to fly outdoors in light winds.
@neatherbot7 жыл бұрын
+Phrancis5 as this video gets older new products come out that will most certainly be better. I agree with your comments. Those would be a better buy than what I have listed. And in 4 months there will be even better stuff to buy. This hobby is always changing and thankfully always getting better!
@Phrancis57 жыл бұрын
Yes I totally understand that products and prices improve quickly, but I'm talking about components that are equal to (Quannum Cyclops) or years older (Syma X11, Eachine H8).

This is a great video. I've been in this hobby for a long, long time and flown just about everything, but some of the most fun I've had has been will little projects and experiments like this. One tip, invest in the appropriate soldering iron for this type work. That 25W job from harbor freight is not a good choice :). You want something with a tiny tip and controllable heat range. Plenty around cheap.

You can buy the pigtails with connectors on eBay for under $2 per 20. No need to cut the connector off, and you can move the camera to other drones. Search eBay for: 20pcs Micro JST 1.25mm GH PH 2-Pin Male & Female Connectors w/ Wires

It does, in fact, not "seem like it's easier to fly". I'm a total noob when it comes to flying drones but turning headless mode on, which is said to be all about "Getting you out of sticky situations" by making the drone easier to fly, it actually disorients the hell out of me XD It's like all my controls are reversed because 90% of the time when you want to turn it on to avoid something you'll already be pointing away from it, and then headless more just makes you crash into it instead since forwards is now back...

Is that quad the same as the "Fury Bee" (just a different name)? I got a Fury Bee and it climbs extremely quickly for a little cheapo (looks pretty much exact thing as yours). And yaw rate is also super fast (on #2 setting). It's really stable and easy to fly. The ducts are slightly over 1" diam.

@neatherbot7 жыл бұрын
It flies best when there is no air current. Inside is the best environment, but if the wind outside is completely still you can fly no problem. Just be aware that if you get it up above trees and wind does start blowing this little quad will not have enough power to fly back against any wind. Cheers!

I own one on this chips, but they don' work out of the box :( Now i use the F3 Controller to fly it with my taranis, but the V-bat don't work correctly and I would say, that the stock platin does a better job with "locking in" and the low voltage cutoff ...

Very interesting video. NEATHERBOT , where have you been all my past 6 months? Glad that KZbin tossed you into my feed! I've been scratching and saving and spending much $. I have a Taranus XD9, 2 quad battery's for my (friend built) 5 inch "racing quad" with no FPV.... still just trying to learn to hover w/ line of sight. I've faced the fact that I suck at quads, so far. Friends tell me I need FPV. You know, "get the Fat Shark goggles" but I'm a noob and Fat Shark are extremely proud of their goggles and that's not including a cam....I do believe buying the Taranus was a good/smart first buy/piece of the system that I can grow with, but seems to me with your instruction/videos, I could be practicing real world FPV instead of simulator, line of sight, scared to death I'm gonna destroy my quad at any second before I even get FPV. I hope this will work for me.... Thanks for the less expensive real world option for flying FPV!
@neatherbot8 жыл бұрын
+Lewis Taylor you made my day by making this comment! So glad you find my videos helpful! Yes these micro brushed quads are a great way to learn FPV without crashing and waiting money. That Taranis was a great investment! The fatsharks are very good, but you do pay for their quality. I will be slowly moving into brushless and eventually into bigger racing quads so you can learn with me!
@sharkey51508 жыл бұрын
NeatherBot that sounds like an awesome plan! I believe you have found a great niche in all the quad FPV field. I've shared your video with a lot of my friends that can't see dumping so much money into crashing, repairing, crashing , repairing quads that cost 2-$400 just for the quad. They all loved it and we all are building micros to learn more about flying than repairing. Although repairing is important, we all want to fly longer than 1-3 minutes between having to stop, go home, order parts wait, repair, then be all anal about crashing. Thank you, Bro for making mine and many others day! Keep up the great work!

@neatherbot8 жыл бұрын
+joey f Yes!!! The more people the better! So you do not need to purchase anything different. You will just have to be sure to choose frequencies for the FPV gear that do not overlap. You have 40 channels to choose from so pick some frequencies that are far enough apart the you don't accidentally over power one of the other friends fpv feed.

Fantastic video! I'm VERY new to FPV. I'm debating between the E013 kit (drone + goggles + transmitter) or build like NeatherBot suggests here. My question: Will I get better video (quality and range) going with this configuration vs. the E013 kit?
@neatherbot7 жыл бұрын
+Rob Ludlow I have flown the E013 and I am blown away that you can get everything for such a low price. BUT the goggles in the E013 are small, not so small you can not use them, but they are significantly smaller than the other goggles I use in this video. So my suggestion: if you are wanting to get into FPV just for a taste of what it's like with no soldering and not fuss the E013 will give you an FPV experience. If you think you will be getting into FPV for the long haul, I would suggest something a bit more expensive so you get higher quality parts. It depends on what you are trying to get out of it.

Want to put more money in the FPV goggles and buy "the Eachine VR D2 5 Inches 800*480 40CH Raceband 5.8G Diversity FPV Goggles with DVR Lens Adjustable" Does it work with this drone in the video?

What's your avg. flight time with the TX01 camera and the upgraded batteries?
@neatherbot8 жыл бұрын
+fnielson 3.5 - 4 minutes max. That's why you need lots of batteries!

Ahhh... Makes sense. Thanks for the awesome video! And for the response!

I’ve done this on a drone and the drone flys up and then not even a minute later goes. Back down and blinks for low battery.do I need a better quality drone ?

Is it possible to solder connectors to the board instead of the wires, in order to make the FPV camera removable? For example if you were to switch one camera between multiple quads, could you use connectors to make the camera plug-in and easily removable without soldering?

I've seen this done, adding a little connector will work just fine but will add more weight to your build.
@YanouFishel6 жыл бұрын
you could just try soldering 2 headers on it, and using dupont cable connectors

Did you by any change test your creation versus the dm002? How would you say they compare?
@captainkook93716 жыл бұрын
DM002 is good and a price wise beginner FPV drone , but if you want a tiny whoop setup. Go for a ducted one. There are many videos here to compare and set up tutorials.

What's a ducted one :D?
@captainkook93716 жыл бұрын
There's a circular guard (we call it a duct) around the propellers. A prop guard for short. Please see E010, E011, F36,H36, Tiny 6, 7, Q65 etc.

Och, prop guards ok :)

Or you could just buy the eachine E013. Comes with goggles, drone with fpv camera, and controller. It’s all rtf.
