Looking at getting a heat pump - refreshing my memory of your thoughts on the Octopus ASHP offering Edit The SCOP prediction is rather poor at 10:26 when i looked up the SCOP predictions for a Daikin 12KW system it was 3.37 at 55c and 4.64 at 35c so 45c would be 4. bit disappointing that 50c is 3.56 and not higher. its not great - might not break even with gas. my local heat geek firm have quoted me £13500 ( with the higher 7500 grant) for a 12KW unit desinged at 45c with 10 radiator changes & new cyclinder. a 50c system doesnt look that appealing to be honest - unless the "spark gap" comes down of course

I have a question regarding my electric vehicle, a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq model. My car has driven 80,000 miles so far, and I use it daily, charging it at home using slow charging. Recently, I checked the high-voltage battery, and it showed excellent condition: SOH (State of Health): 100% Deviation: 0 After that, I traveled a distance of 900 miles, using DC fast charging five times during the trip. About a week later, I checked the high-voltage battery again and noticed a drop in battery health: SOH: 96.1% Deviation: 0 The following week, I used the car normally with AC slow charging (16A) and checked the high-voltage battery a third time. The readings were as follows: SOH: 94.5% Deviation: 0 Isolation: 1000 It's worth noting that all 96 cells had equal voltage readings, ranging between 3.86 and 3.88 volts. Professor, if you could please advise, What procedure is typically followed in this case? The car has not registered any error codes, and using the Autel diagnostic device, I accessed the "Special Function" menu, where I successfully performed the "SOC (State of Charge) Calibration." However, there is no "SOH Calibration" feature available.

Sadly I don't have an answer for you. One explanation we will cover in an another video is that a car often charged to 100% in ac (never on dc) and left there too long every day has taken a hit the first time it was properly DC charged. In other words it's also good to charge in DC from time to time, in the early years of the car. Consistency in cell voltage should matter too. Have you tried to go slow charge on DC (eg 25kW) and of course slow charge on AC to try and rebalance cells? Could it be one cell that is at odds (can you see on individual cell chart of voltage)

Very solid installation . A question please ? 2019 Hyundai ionic EV 12 V battery message coming up when I start the car in the morning . I want to replace the 12 V battery with an aftermarket and I found some supposedly fit . Fair enough. Today I called a batteries plus store that had a Duracell car battery that I was interested in putting in the car and they told me that they don't have a machine and that the car will be damaged if I just changed the 12 V battery out like a gas car . I changed the 12 V battery in my Leaf and had no problem... I never thought this would be a situation. Can I just put a diehard EV battery in my car like a regular battery? 😂 I went through the same planning, calculations process etc and, in the end, decided to simply rest my 460W panel against a wooden pallet so that I can angle it differently between summer/spring and autumn/winter. Also, as you will soon find out, in order to capture most of the sunlight during spring/summer/early autumn, you will want to be able to change the orientation of your panel once a day or place it somewhere in your garden with a flatter angle, so that it is exposed most of the day (like on warehouses). Having a sturdy wooden frame prevents that. Of note, from experience, where you have put it, your micro inverter is not protected enough from rain/snow/etc. It’s best to tie it behind the panel with some garden wire (metal wire coated with plastic). Use the earthing holes of the aluminium frame of the module for that. Earthing is pointless anyway in this use case. But in the end, the best option is to just have 2 panels: One South-oriented and one West-oriented. Which I will do soon. 😊

@Nikoo03318 күн бұрын
@ also you want to plug your AC output of the micro inverter to a socket equipped with a smart plug (tapo, antella work fine) set to turn itself ON 5 min before sunrise and set to turn itself OFF 5 minutes after sunset. It prevents your micro inverter to use and waste electricity from your house when the optimum conditions to generate solar electricity are not met.

@evdabbler19 күн бұрын
As you can see you're unlikely to get a bad pick if you go with the Ioniq 28. Take a look at the history for miles/kwh then look at range at 100% the latter divided by the former should give you a sensecheck of whether you get 23kWh or more. Ideally drive the car from 100% and use this protocol to compare. Ask the previous owner (if possible) how often and how long for they left the battery at 100%.

@evdabbler Where I am, chargers start charging a fee several minutes after you get to 100%, but people owning EVs at the moment are usually better off financially, so they don't care that much for a couple of extra bucks. They would rather finish their lunch in peace, while others are waiting, or even consider this as parking fee, especially in areas where you can't easily find a parking spot. This in turn makes other rich people mad, so they park their cars in a way, preventing the vehicle charging to leave and having to wait, as a punishment. It's a lovely mess, with anxious and pretentious rich people.
@evdabbler20 күн бұрын
@@randombitsofreality This sadly leads to phrases I heard yesterday such as "see, this is the problem with EVs" or "I prefer an ICE car". The alternative is more chargers, less expensive to install (eg distributed power) as rushing one's lunch to move their car is not great experience. More and affordable, preferably 11kW+ destination chargers is the other answer (i wouldn't have stopped in the first place if my car had not been parked the whole day in Birmingham without charging)

This might be boarding on illegal and I found it massively irritating trying to follow the information you were displaying.
@evdabbler2 ай бұрын
Sorry to disappoint and feedback received. I think the answer is that it should be displayed in both miles and km so everyone can follow. Less than 1 in 3 viewers here are in fact from the UK or the USA, and all the other countries I see listed use the metric system. Also to note the speed limiter was on pretty much all the time so quite confident in terms of having driven on the right side of the law. Finally for this test which is about calculating distance * efficiency, you essentially get one more digit of precision by using Wh/km rather than miles/kWh.

Noted and thanks for the feedback. Aside from the fact I think the metric system works well and I am familiar enough with the conversions, it does give me that bit more precision on the final calculation. The final result would be +/-2% (+/-1.6kWh) if using miles and miles/kWh for the reading, it is +/-0.7% if using Wh/km (+/-0.5kWh). Of course we can then dispute the accuracy of the display itself but let's start with the best reading we have first.
