good to see more love given to new dials but more attention should be placed on the time keeping accuracy. I have a saxonia thin and Lange 1 white gold as well as an incoming little lange 1 onxy dial. the saxonia and Lange 1 always runs fast (more than a minute each week with regular winding).

So let me get this straight, you guys made a watch based on an opera clock made specifically so people didn’t interrupt the play with their minute repeaters chiming, and have that watch a minute repeater? How cruel…

Along with the Datograph it’s their most iconic watch. Of course they are gonna make an anniversary model of it. Lange are a pretty innovative brand IMO

Nice, but shelf the double assembly PR gubbins and reduce costs without loss of performance unless your watches really really need double assembly

Thank you very much for your interest in A. Lange & Söhne. We appreciate your open feedback and would like to mention a few things for more context and why our watchmakers assemble each of our timepieces twice: One of the reasons is related to a special design feature - the three-quarter plate introduced by Ferdinand A. Lange in 1864. On the one hand, it enhances precision by stabilising the entire wheel train beneath a single bridge. On the other, it makes assembly more difficult because even an experienced watchmaker has to mount and remove it several times in succession until each individual arbor has just the right endshake. The other reason relates to the material of which the plate is made. At Lange, all plates and bridges are made of German silver. It is responsible for the rigidity of the movement and in the course of time develops a warm, golden patina that protects its surface. That is why the material is left „untreated“. Unfortunately, it has a disadvantage: a very sensitive surface. Every fingerprint can leave a lasting blemish and tools like screwdrivers may cause scratches. This is why at A. Lange & Söhne many hours are invested in assembling each movement with utmost virtuosity. Afterwards, the interactions of all mechanical parts are adjusted to the highest degree of perfection. But then, the movement is taken apart again. Now, all parts are painstakingly cleaned, and many of them are lavishly decorated and polished. Even parts that later remain unseen are enhanced in this way. The jig screws used to assemble the raw movement are now replaced with new, thermally blued screws. When the three-quarter plate has been decorated with the characteristic Glashütte ribbing and the last gold chaton has been mirror polished, the movement is reassembled for the second and last time and carefully lubricated at over 50 oil sinks and bearing points with up to eight different greases and oils. @alangesoehne That's a detailed and considered response to a moderately negative comment. Nice to see how even in a PR response you do things the right way.

A double balance has benefits for time keeping over a single. It’s attention to detail like that along with many other things that give these things their value. If you want a really good dress watch where money is saved get a JLC Master Control or one that looks like this, get a GO. They are very good.

@@alangesoehnethe watch is truly beautiful and the craftsmanship beyond question. The single frustrating issue with it though is that it seems nobody is willing to state the MSRP anywhere online. Every single site, including the manufacturer, states “price upon request”. At which point not only do you have to try and make contact during normal business hours, which isn’t always convenient, but you are essentially forced to roll the dice on both the sales person’s availability and attitude.

He will never tell we have shortage of material and that's why either go cheap when obviously they can't because they will lose market ground or ohh let's make limit it with other material but gold or platinum when you look at the prices it crazy despite the craft and why not Mercedes and bmw they go cheap too

A.Lange & Sohne invited me to the harrods boutique to see the 2 new datograph watches, which I was very excited about. But then told me i wasn’t able to purchase the blue dial datograph as i didn’t have a spend history, how am I supposed to achieve that when you won’t sell me a watch that I actually want . Very disappointed but still my favourite watch brand of them all 😢

by far my favorite brand in the world. However, let me guess, this entire 25 pieces is sold out and probably 23 of them will end up in collectors's safe where they will see the light once in 5-7 years.
